Bobby McMann’s Dynasty League Rankings and Notes for 2017 Fantasy Football

1 Aaron Rodgers Has at least 5 elite seasons left. Top four are all so close. Ezekiel Elliott Feed the man Odell Beckham, Jr. If he keeps his head in the game, he’s unstoppable. Rob Gronkowski Injuries are frustrating, but he’s still the premier TE in the game.
2 Andrew Luck Luck remains an elite dynasty option, but its very close and debatable with the top four. David Johnson One of the most exciting players in the game, strong case for No. 1 spot Mike Evans Elite dynasty asset Travis Kelce Baby Gronk has the talent to eventually ascend to No. 1, current situation limits upside.
3 Russell Wilson Best combo of upside and floor. Le’Veon Bell Do-it-all RB is ultra-productive when healthy and not suspended. Amari Cooper Terrific young tandem with Derek Carr. Tyler Eifert Great situation, elite red zone skills. Injuries are the only thing holding him back.
4 Cam Newton Price is down from a year ago if you want to buy. Todd Gurley Needs help. DeAndre Hopkins Major bounce back with QB upgrade Jordan Reed Always a health concern, but the go-to option in the Skins offense
5 Jameis Winston Leap year Devonta Freeman Elite skills, value limited by Coleman’s presence. Allen Robinson Skills are legit. If someone is selling high, you should be buying. Zach Ertz Will targets be a concern in 2017?
6 Derek Carr Continues to improve Melvin Gordon Rebounded in a big way. Still very much a health risk. Julio Jones 2017 WR1 overall Hunter Henry The new heir apparent to Antonio Gates.
7 Marcus Mariota A building block QB Lamar Miller Wait, maybe Miami was using him properly? Antonio Brown Production is unreal, even with dip in 2016. Jimmy Graham I’d say he bounced back nicely.
8 Dak Prescott Sophomore slump? Jay Ajayi That was some breakout. AJ Green Needs more love. Eric Ebron Encouraging, but needs to take another step.
9 Matt Stafford Underrated and still just 29 years old C.J. Prosise Still buying even with Lacy signing. Dez Bryant Discounted Dez is not something you see often in Dynasty. Greg Olsen Dependable TE on the wrong side of 30.
10 Matt Ryan Iceman cometh Derrick Henry Battering ram. Michael Thomas (Saints) Hello, Drew Brees Austin Hooper We’ll see more in 2017.
11 Carson Wentz All the tools to be successful, needs weapons Tevin Coleman Could be an RB1 if Freeman was out of the picture. Alshon Jeffery Needs a monster season for big payday Ladarius Green Headache for Fantasy owners, so talented
12 Drew Brees Age and talent around him are negatives, but Brees continues to roll. Jordan Howard Emerged quickly as Bears best RB. How long will it last? Sammy Watkins If he can stay healthy, he is going to breakout. Cameron Brate Reliable target, red zone monster
13 Ben Roethlisberger Leading a powerhouse offense, even faint retirement whispers hurt long-term stock slightly Carlos Hyde There is still RB1 potential here, but frustrating player to own Brandin Cooks Will continue to get his Tyler Higbee Problem off the field, could become one on it too in 2017
14 Philip Rivers Affordable QB1 production even when everyone is hurt around him. Latavius Murray Tough sledding in MIN T.Y. Hilton Underrated in Dynasty Delanie Walker Solid, but if you own him, start grooming a replacement.
15 Kirk Cousins Volume Fantasy producer LeSean McCoy Still has the juice Keenan Allen Talent is that of a WR2, production could be WR1-like. Jack Doyle More opportunity coming his way.
16 Tyrod Taylor Does he stay in Buffalo? Underrated Fantasy option C.J. Anderson Needs to stay on the field, but ideal RB2 when healthy. Demaryius Thomas Who is throwing him the ball? Martellus Bennett Nice landing spot.
17 Eli Manning Window is closing on his QB1 production, but OBJ certainly helps Spencer Ware More RB2 than elite, will he have competition in 2017? DeVante Parker Still on the train, he’ll become a stud. Coby Fleener Guess not.
18 Tom Brady Stays winning Mark Ingram See above. Jordy Nelson The entire offense missed his presence. Julius Thomas Can’t stay healthy, athleticism diminished, change of scenery doesn’t help that.
19 Blake Bortles Sell someone on the stats Giovani Bernard Bouncing back from ACL tear. Donte Moncrief Love the talent, needs to stay healthy and breakout with more than just TDs. Kyle Rudolph Solid but unspectacular
20 Jared Goff Make or break in year 2? Yes, but don’t give up on him just yet. Eddie Lacy Could be out of the NFL in a couple years unless he gets in shape. Corey Coleman Great situation for immediate impact. Zach Miller If healthy, he could have huge PPR year.
21 Paxton Lynch Can he emerge? Doug Martin Workhorse back but inconsistent year to year production. Stefon Diggs Major gamebreaker with utapped potential C.J. Fiedorowicz Solid possession option
22 Mike Glennon Has a lot to prove in Chicago. Dart QB3 Jeremy Hill Solid two down back, but not a stud. Jarvis Landry PPR machine Erik Swoope No press, but he’s a bench stash right now.
23 Andy Dalton Much-maligned because of real life limitations, Dalton is solid QB2 DeMarco Murray Still producing Doug Baldwin You have to believe now, right? Clive Walford Talented, but now behind Cook.
24 Ryan Tannehill Maybe Miko Grimes was right. Ty Montgomery What will his role be in ’17? Martavis Bryant Long-term risk because of suspension, but Top 15 skill set Vance McDonald There’s more upside here.
25 Jimmy Garappolo Trade out of town? Paul Perkins Real chance to break through, but expect competition Terrelle Pryor Prove it deal in Washington. He will. Dwayne Allen Annually overrated, but in a great spot for ’17 production
26 Teddy Bridgewater Might not play in 2017 Ameer Abdullah Will he get lost in the mix? Davante Adams What a turn of events, but I’m still skeptical Maxx Williams Lost in the shuffle at the moment
27 Colin Kaepernick Change of scenery might help but long-term value is minimal Duke Johnson Needs more touches Emmanuel Sanders WR3 will a few good seasons left if he can get quality QB play. Jared Cook The ultimate tease.
28 Joe Flacco Is he elite? Kenneth Dixon Woodhead signing hurts immediate value Jordan Matthews Needs to find consistency and assert himself this year or value will drop. Jerell Adams Will (rightfully) get more hype if the Giants don’t draft a TE early.
29 Jay Cutler Retirement or extended vacation for Smokin’ Jay? Jerick McKinnon Don’t overpay for potential, Viks view him as 3rd down back Josh Doctson Ball skills make him a 10+ TD threat, will get opportunity Jeff Heuerman Could step up and be major factor in Broncos offense.
30 Sam Bradford Somehow still living off of his University of Oklahoma potential Isaiah Crowell Undervalued, still has upside Sterling Shepard PPR jackpot in NY/NJ, alongside ODB. Short-term drop with BMarsh Jesse James Ladarius handcuff and solid target.
31 Carson Palmer Tailed off at the end of 2015, but great short-term option if you are a QB away from the playoffs. Theo Riddick Will need to see his 2017 role, but exciting PPR RB2 Will Fuller Those hands are brutal, but speed to burn Stephen Anderson Athletic move tight end with exciting potential.
32 Trevor Siemian Would make a solid real life backup QB. Devontae Booker Did not show well in audition without CJA Tyreek Hill TyFreak made a living off of splash plays. How long can it continue? Austin Sefarian-Jenkins Stock is tumbling, talent and knucklehead factor are very real.
33 Alex Smith Blah. DeAndre Washington Could be in timeshare with Jalen Richard in OAK. Michael Crabtree A go-to receiver for Carr. Trey Burton Intriguing handcuff to Ertz
34 Robert Griffin III It’s over. Probably. Charles Sims Pass-catching back, but limitations after that. Kelvin Benajmin A year older and coming off ACL tear, but should see volume and RZ targets. Neal Sterling Very interesting with Thomas out of the picture.
35 Tom Savage My third favorite Savage, after Macho Man and Fred, but ahead of Ben. Dion Lewis Exciting talent, but James White sure did step up when it counted. John Brown A healthy John Brown is a dangerous John Brown. Gary Barnidge 2015 was a great year, but he’s not that guy.
36 Cardale Jones A project, but one with a massive ceiling should everything click. Thomas Rawls Falling, but all hope is not lost yet. Devin Funchess Still a project, but increased reps should further develop big pass-catcher into Fantasy threat. Antonio Gates He’s had a great run.
37 Jacoby Brissett In 2QB formats, Brissett is a prospect I want slow roasting on my bench. Rob Kelley Just a guy, but seems like a nice one. LaQuan Treadwell Writing off 2016 as a redshirt, needs to start showing something. Jason Witten See above.
38 Brett Hundley See above. Jalen Richard Explosively talented COP back Golden Tate Enjoy the Top 25 production C.J. Uzomah Needs more PT
39 Trevone Boykin Russy handcuff Jonathan Stewart Aging RB2 Jeremy Maclin Not dead yet despite what many thought after heading to KC. Connor Hamlett Could end up the heir apparent to Witten
40 Brock Osweiler Perfect fit in Cleveland, will hold a mean clipboard. LeGarrette Blount Blount after Blount after Blount Eric Decker Excellent 2nd option in Jets passing attack, TD machine and so underrated. Tyler Kroft Lots of TE talent in Cinci
41 Cody Kessler Limited as a starter, profiles as backup Marshawn Lynch A Beast Mode relaunch appears imminent Rishard Matthews Might be overrated heading in 2017 Will Tye Decent short-term option
42 Nick Foles Fine backup to Wentz Bilal Powell Looked better than Forte down the stretch Cam Meredith Top 25 potential, especially in 2017. Rico Gathers Being an athletic former basketball player gets you here.
43 Mark Sanchez Keeps getting work. Ryan Mathews Can never seem to stay healthy/seize opportunity Tyler Lockett Upside limited to some extent, but superb playmaker will eventually be strong WR3. Lance Kendricks Undersized but decent backup real life TE
44 Ryan Fitzpatrick Regressed as expected. Rex Burkhead Skills similar in many ways to Lewis and White, but now with more hype. Randall Cobb Is he just not good anymore? Josh Hill Backup real life TE would need injury to increase profile.
45 Blaine Gabbert No. Matt Forte Wearing down Marvin Jones Started out hot, faded just as fast. Dennis Pitta Nice resurgence, but Baltimore TE corp. is crowded
46 Geno Smith Gets another shot in NY, with the Giants. This should be good. Adrian Peterson Does he have anything left? Malcolm Mitchell Showed well as a rookie, long-term potential still there. Mychal Rivera Should be starter in Jax, but Sterling has higher potential.
47 Josh McCown Will he be the Jets starter? Wendall Smallwood Undersized spark plug Julian Edelman PPR gold, but product of the system. Luke Willson Still athletic enough to make an impact if opportunity arises
48 Matt Barkley Was better than expected last year. Danny Woodhead Too much grit not to be ranked Josh Gordon Can’t quit him like he can’t quit banned substances Temarrick Hemingway Will get a shot at increased reps in year 2.
49 Tony Romo Retiring from the NFL. Jamaal Charles Could make a nice COP/3rd down back Tyler Boyd Should be quality Robin to AJG Gavin Escobar Needs a chance of uniform
50 Christian Hackenberg Freshman Year at Penn State feels like forever ago Frank Gore Was about to fall off four years ago, keeps producing. Kevin White Size/speed to explode, but needs to get and stay on the field. Ryan Griffin Decent talent, but only rosterable in deep and 2TE leagues.
Tyrell Williams Showed well in ’17, playmaker with nice size.
Willie Snead Should see increase in value.
Travis Benjamin Chargers receiver situation becomes very crowded
DeSean Jackson Speedster lands in terrific spot
Kenny Britt Consistent targets + health = production (finally)
Jamison Crowder Plays role very well, underrated asset
Mike Wallace Staying productive despite bouncing around
Breshad Perriman Lots of talent, lots of ? too.
JJ Nelson More reps in 2017 to show what he can do.
Brandon Marshall WR3 for next couple years, solid landing spot for value.
Larry Fitzgerald Slowed down big time in second half, WR3 for 2017 and that is about it.
Kenny Stills Overvalued asset, but great deep threat
Michael Floyd Needs to wake up.
Quincy Enunwa With Marshall gone, Enunwa could be a sleeper. Depending on QB sitch
Pierre Garcon Should be focal point of Niners offense
Braxton Miller Potential to be a playmaker for Texans, but crowded offense.
Torrey Smith Is what he is at this point.
Robert Woods New No. 1 for the Rams, whatever that means
Philip Dorsett Needs to show something in year 3.
Dontrelle Inman Is there room for him?
Tajae Sharpe Possession receiver that you should’ve traded last summer
Adam Thielan Big contract doesn’t match limited upside
Robbie Anderson Impressive finish to rookie year
Marqise Lee Jumped over Allen Hurns last year.
Eli Rogers Possession slot guy, but don’t get your hopes up.
