With the 2017 NFL Draft in the books, it’s time for a fresh set of 2017 Fantasy Football rankings. ICYMI, you can click on over to see the NFL Draft Grades for all Fantasy Football skill position players. I have to say, it’s a must-read… then again… everything I write is. While we still have three months until Fantasy Football draft season is here, this will give you a good head start on your competition to dig into some names that might surprise in the rankings.

I was a big fan of the Panthers draft when it comes to getting Newton more weapons. Now, we just need to know that his shoulder is okay… Yep, Mariota is still way up there. Although, after the draft, that call doesn’t seem as bold as post-Super Bowl… Winston was the big winner at quarterback this offseason… I wanted to rank Dalton higher, but if you every doubted the “wait on quarterback” strategy, just look at how deep the position is this year!

I am going to keep driving this point home, but Howard finished as RB9 last year despite not starting as the team’s lead option and John Fox screwing around with him until midseason. Fournette is the superior talent, and the Jaguars didn’t draft him at No. 4 to have Fournette play in a timeshare… Mixon was the best talent in the draft, the Bengals tried to trade Hill and Bernard can’t stay healthy. Believe!… Crowell was a winner for running backs, as the Browns didn’t add a significant threat to his workload, though, Duke Johnson should bounce back this year… Murray’s time as the top option in Minnesota was short lived… Jamaal Williams is this year’s Jordan Howard. Draft and stash him… Sproles is the only running back of interest in Philly… Perine is a real threat to take over the lead job from Kelley… Foreman has a chance to form a timeshare as the lead/power option to Miller being the change of pace/pass-catching player. Be concerned… McNichols could move way up the ranks if he grabs hold of the opportunity left by Martin being suspended.

Man, it feels good to keep ranking my boy, Michael Thomas, this high… Cooks should maintain his value even with the plethora of weapons for the Patriots… Every receiver from Keenan Allen to Julian Edelman could easily finish within 20 points of each other. If you don’t grab a WR1 in your draft, just wait. Don’t go chasing the upper end of the WR2 group. There is just too much value in waiting… Martavis Bryant has a higher ceiling than his ranking, but we have to factor in the time off and off-field concerns… Crowder is a great talent, but if Doctson can finally get on the field, they could swap spots with Crowder being the slot option and Doctson’s talent being among the best… The Chargers receivers look to be a headache, or WRBC (wide receiver by committee)… Thielen is the No. 1 in Minnesota, Diggs fans need to stop trying to make him more than he is… If you can’t tell, receiver is as deep as ever. When you have Lockett, Beasley, Perriman, Lee and more at WR60-plus, you know you can wait to load up with quality options.

The tight end position is littered with injury concerns, starting with the top two on the board… The Packers haven’t done much with the tight end position throughout the years, but don’t forget that Richard Rodgers was TE9 in 2015 with eight touchdowns… Ebron had a fortunate NFL Draft weekend, as the Lions didn’t address the position… The rookie tight ends will be overrated in drafts. Brate is the better receiving option for the Bucs this year, especially since Howard is the better blocker, so let someone else draft the rookies, while you take Ebron, Miller, etc… This is the deepest the tight end position has been in quite some time.
