Injuries are still the big news around Fantasy Baseball, especially with the loss of Freddie Freeman to a broken wrist. That’s why we have the waiver wire column, though. As always, the ownership percentages come from CBSSports.com where they tend to be higher than other sites. Keep this in mind as you read on and check your own leagues wherever they are hosted.

Yan Gomes, C, Indians – After a terrible April in which he batted just .176, Gomes has come alive in May with a .375/.459/.625 triple slash. He won’t hit this well going forward but he’s certainly better than his meager April production and worth adding if your catcher isn’t producing in an AL-only league. (18%)

Tucker Barnhart, C, Reds – Barnhart was losing playing time to Devin Mesoraco but it didn’t take long for that situation to change. Mesoraco is nursing a sore hamstring, never a good problem for a catcher. Barnhart is likely to again become the main catcher for the Reds, which makes him worthy of adding now if you’re a Mesoraco owner. (5%)
