Fantasy Executive News Desk: Good Luck for T.Y. Hilton

Corey Parson The Fantasy Executive July 12, 2017 4:52PM EST

As Fantasy Football drafts begin to heat up we owners need to anticipate things that could happen. Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery. Luck had surgery in January to repair a torn labrum. Well, now it’s July and Luck still has yet to begin throwing and there is really no word on his rehab coming out of Indy. Most think that Luck will be good to go for Week 1. The Colts definitely don’t want to rush their franchise quarterback back from an injury he has been dealing with for almost two years. As you all know, I have T.Y. Hilton fifth in my WR rankings. I owned Hilton on several Fantasy Football teams last season, and I want more shares this year. Hilton had career highs in yardage and receptions in 2016. Durability is what I like the most about Hilton. Last season, he was on the injury report every week, yet every Sunday afternoon there was Hilton putting up numbers. T.Y. had six games with over 100 yards receiving and two games with over 170 yards. I love players who are in the same offense season after season.

Clearly, the health of Andrew Luck is very important to Hilton’s potential Fantasy Football owners. If Luck is not on the field at all in the preseason, I would worry about drafting Hilton. For those of us in early Fantasy Football drafts, I know it’s risky but I would still draft Luck and Hilton where they should go. Scared money don’t make money is our motto. This is a situation we will monitor as we get closer to camp.
