Cowboys’ Ezekiel Elliott “Bracing for a Short Suspension” as NFL Investigation Concludes

FNTSY’s Scott Engel, The Fantasy Executive Corey Parson, Michael Florio and Frank Stampfl discuss the potential Fantasy implications of the expected suspension of Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott. The NFL’s investigation into the charges of domestic violence against Elliott is coming to an end and it was reported that Elliot is “bracing for a short suspension.” He received a report from the NFL on the findings of their investigation and is preparing a response to the league. Multiple sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Elliott is facing either a one or two game suspension but the league denied that a final decision on any potential discipline has been reached. Elliott is expected to submit his response to the league within the next week.

A 20-year-old woman, identified as Elliott’s girlfriend, accused him of attacking her while they were in a car, but formal charges were never filed against him, as investigators cited “conflicting and inconsistent information.”  However, the NFL has been conducting a separate investigation, which is close to finished. The NFL’s baseline suspension for domestic violence is six games but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has the power to issue shorter suspensions at his discretion if he feels mitigating circumstances apply.
