During my preparation for Fantasy Football and throughout the NFL season, I spend a lot of time looking into red zone stats. My thinking is simple: Touchdowns may be hard to predict, but they really are the driving force in Fantasy Football. One touchdown equals 60 yards. I believe that looking at players who have the most opportunities near the goal line gives me the best chance of figuring out who will be scoring the most touchdowns this season.
There are a good number of red zone stats to consider, such as red zone carries, targets, receptions and most importantly, touchdowns. You can find these stats, but one thing I have always wondered was which players make the most of their heavy workloads in the red zone. I decided to take all players that had at least 56 percent of their teams’ red zone carries, who were also returning to their respective teams.
