Defenses to Exploit for Week 1

George Kurtz Staff Writer September 7, 2017 6:06PM EST

The 2017 NFL season is finally upon us, and in this column, we will go over which defenses Fantasy owners may want to key on each week. We won’t be ranking the worst defenses, but the worst Fantasy matchups for a defense each week.

We will point out what teams can or can’t be run against or passed against. We will, for the most part, not point out the obvious starts as you should all know to start your best players. However, we will point out if one of those players has a bad matchup that may make you look in another direction. Please remember to take out your Buccaneers and Dolphins players as that game has been moved to Week 11 due to Hurricane Irma. Our best wishes certainly go out to those affected by Hurricane Harvey and a safe week ahead for those about to be hit by Irma.

  1. Colts: Indianapolis is a complete mess right now. The addition of Sammy Watkins moves Todd Gurley back into Top 10 RB status for me. They both start. I like Jared Goff in deeper leagues or two-QB leagues. I’m not afraid to start Robert Woods, although I assume you can do better in Week 1.
