With the 2018 Fantasy Baseball season just under a month away, it’s time to examine the early ADPs. Using Fantasy Baseball ADP to pick your players isn’t the best way to draft, but using it to find values is one of the smartest tactics for your draft. With that in mind, we’re going to examine early Spring Training hitter ADPs to find undervalued options at each position.

Catcher

Christian Vazquez, BOS (18/296) – Despite playing only 99 games, Vazquez was Fantasy Baseball’s 17th best catcher, finishing with .293/43/5/32/7. That’s seven spots higher than Austin Hedges, who owners are going gaga over (again) because of his power potential. Don’t forget that AVG matters, especially when you can get that boost at catcher; plus Vazquez has some speed. If Vazquez can get 120 games this year, he’ll end up as a C1, despite being the 18th catcher off the board.

First Base

Rhys Hoskins, PHI (7/45) – It may seem strange to list a player this high or with this level of hype, but honestly, Hoskins is still a value at this cost. If you are worried about September and his brief stint, I hear you. However, Hoskins has a terrific track record through the minors and actually performed better than Cody Bellinger and even Aaron Judge. Hoskins is a legitimate 40 home run threat, and even with the Phillies lineup lacking, the resulting Runs+RBIs will push 200. I have Hoskins as my sixth first baseman and the 23rd overall hitter.
