Mike got his first break as a desk assistant working for WNEW-FM & AM in New York City in 1988. Mike worked as a production assistant for the Giants Radio Network on WNEW-AM from ’88 through ‘91. In 1997, Mike got his first opportunity as a full-time producer with the FAN 590 in Toronto. Damergis spent four years there. working as a producer and reporter covering the Leafs, Raptors and Blue Jays. In 2003, Damergis moved to L.A. and hooked on with Fox Sports Radio. In 2004, Damergis worked for WFAN in Astoria, N.Y., and was reunited with Bob Papa as the Game-Day Producer for the Giants Football Radio Network. In the summer of 2006, XM came calling and offered Mike the job of producer/anchor of “Baseball This Morning,” on MLB Home Plate. In 2007, Damergis published his first book, “The USFL – The Rebel League The NFL Didn’t Respect But Feared.” In 2010, Damergis was teamed with Scott Engel and Adam Ronis for the launch of the Fantasy Sports Radio Network on Sirius/XM. It was Damergis who nicknamed Scott Engel, “The King.” Mike is currently is the Digital Media Director and Broadcasting Professor at Iona College’s Department of Mass Communication in New Rochelle.
