DIRK NOWITZKI IS STILL KNOCKING OFF RUST

There aren’t a whole lot of nationally televised games in the upcoming week, as the NBA does not compete with college football and the BCS bowl games. Hopefully you have NBA League Pass to catch your favorite team in action.

The big news from last week was the surprise early return of Dallas Mavericks PF Dirk Nowitzki (knee). However, he has looked like a shell of his former self, as he slowly knocks off the rust and works himself back into game shape after missing the first two months due to arthroscopic right knee surgery. Nowitzki has come off the bench in each of his first three games, averaging a little over 21 minutes, and he is yet to hit double-digits in the point column so far. In fact, he has hit just eight of his first 25 (.320) field goal attempts, averaging 7.3 ppg and 4.3 rpg with just two total assists and two total steals.
