The labor dispute between the National Hockey League owners and players has been resolved, and it is time for hockey. It’s a little late, but better late than never.
The rankings below are based upon standard 6×4 Fantasy scoring systems. Most leagues use goals (G) and assists (A), plus-minus rating (+/-), power play points (PPPs), shots on goal (SOG), penalty minutes (PIM), goaltender wins (W), Goals-Against-Average (GAA), save percentage (SV%) and shutouts (for goalies). Of course, there are some leagues which also discourage PIM, so be very careful to check your scoring system before relying upon the rankings below. For instance, a guy like San Jose’s Ryane Clowe might not be nearly as valuable in formats which discourage bad behavior.
However, most yearly Fantasy providers use the scoring system above as their default, so we’ll serve the majority of participants well with the rankings below.
NOTE: Played denoted with a ‘+‘ are returning from a long-term injury, offseason surgery or a recent injury playing overseas during the lockout.
