Drafting Closers: A Season-Long Game of Musical Chairs

One popular Fantasy baseball strategy is to punt saves. By not worrying about drafting three or four relief pitchers, you can grab for more talent in the other seven or nine categories. Obviously, for that plan to work you need to dominate just about all of the other categories.

Last year, only 10 of the 30 MLB teams finished the season with the same closer with which they started. Injury, ineffectiveness and impatience all played a part. We would bet on more of the same this year. The question is: whose job is safe at the back end of the pitching staffs?

RotoExperts will be here all year, monitoring the Closer Landscape and each team’s bullpen so that you might gain those few extra saves, or hold that chit that can get you another much needed player in a deal.
