Cody Ross underwent a MRI on Tuesday that revealed a lower left leg strain. Manager Kirk Gibson is anticipating that Ross will miss two or three weeks, meaning he should be good to go for the start of the regular season. Adam Eaton needed a strong spring to lock down a starting gig, and he has gotten off to a hot start with 11 hits over his first 32 at-bats. He has been caught stealing in two of his three attempts, though, so expect him to continue working on the base paths. Brandon McCarthy has nine strike outs and held opponents to a .222 batting average over his first five innings pitched. He is showing no ill-effects from that line drive to his noggin last September.
