Working the count. Seeing a lot of pitches. Taking a patient approach at the plate.

Conventional wisdom has long held those things as being positive attributes in the game of baseball.  Hackers don’t fare well, but those who work the count, who see what the opposing pitcher is throwing – those hitters are the best ones.

So I was curious. Seeing that we keep track of almost every possible statistic in our beloved game today, I wanted to know which batters have seen the most pitches so far in 2013.  Those hitters, I would assume, are at or near the top of the batting charts.
