No, this column is not about Starlin Castro taking a dump on your championship hopes and dreams with his mediocre production so far this year. We’ll save that for another time. Since you are here anyway, you might as well finish reading. What this column is about is non-contenders building for next season and unloading veteran players for high upside prospects and young core talent. While dump trades are very controversial in the Fantasy world, they are a part of the game. As long as the trades do not reek of collusion and there are no rules prohibiting such moves, owners need to accept dumping as part of every keeper/dynasty league. These types of trades are a regular occurrence in both real and Fantasy Baseball. Rebuilding is part of what makes long-term leagues a year ‘round experience for every single team.
