QUARTERBACKS

Drew Brees, NO (shoulder) – Brees expects to play and owners can pencil him in for Sunday. He’s listed as probable after practicing all week. Sean Payton said Brees “looked crisp,” which is a nice vote of confidence. Brees is a QB1 every game he plays, but his return also boosts the value of Brandin Cooks, Marques Colston and C.J. Spiller.

Andrew Luck, IND (shoulder) – While coach Chuck Pagano is “absolutely” confident that Luck will play, owners still need to be prepared. Luck didn’t practice at all this week, and while he wasn’t observed wearing any injury related items, you have to be cautious whenever someone doesn’t practice. If Luck is out, Matt Hasselbeck steps in and downgrades all of the Colts’ receiving weapons. T.Y. Hilton is still worth starting, but Donte Moncrief and Andre Johnson become risky and are benchable. Frank Gore would see a slight tick up, as the Colts would run more.
