| Ben Ice Managing Partner Ben Ice is a 23 year veteran of fantasy sports, which tells you he’s really old. He is the managing partner of RotoExperts.com and serves as the Vice President of Marketing for Fantasy Auctioneer.com His passion is all things football, and relatives have threatened on numerous occasions to have him committed to psychiatric evaluation for Obsessive Compulsive disorder. Founding RotoExperts with several friends was his way of thumbing his nose at family members, who thankfully live far, far away. In 2004 Ben turned his compulsion to writing for Tony Holm’s Fantasy Sharks and was nominated for two Fantasy Sports Writer Association awards, making it to the finals for both. He followed that up in 2005 when he battled Chris Harris in the finals of the Talented Mr Roto Open Pen II competition. Although he left the finals battered and bruised while Chris went on to win several FSWA awards, Matt Berry felt pity for him and gave him a job anyway. That year he was nominated for another FSWA award for his coverage of the NFC on CBS Sportsline. Since then he has been featured as a fantasy football expert on Fox Sports Radio, covered the NFL draft on WDAE The Sports Animal and has covered baseball and football auction drafts in several print magazines, including RotoWire, Krause Publications, CBS Sportsline Fantasy Magazine and The Sporting News annual draft guide. | | Tommy Landry Executive Editor
Tommy Landry is an avid fantasy sports participant (aka "junkie") since last century (okay, so the 1990s is technically last century) and has been a fantasy analyst for over five years. He first cut his teeth with his own free fantasy advice website, T-PLan's Fantasy World. He later spent over two years as the injury expert for fantasyfootballchamps.com (ffchamps.com). From there, Tommy joined TalentedMrRoto.com after he narrowly lost in the semifinals of the site's annual "Open Pen" competition. While with TMR, Tommy was an NBA columnist; a Senior News Reporter for NFL, MLB, and NBA; a guest TRUMmer, and a designated contributor to the message boards. His fantasy analysis and advice has also appeared on NBA.com. Tommy has kept his own sports analysis and fantasy advice blog since 2005, is an accomplished musician, has had his original poetry published on three occasions, and he enjoys life in Austin, TX, the live music capital of the world. | | Scott Engel Senior Writer Scott joined RotoExperts.com in 2008 after four years at ESPN.com, where he was an Associate Editor and Fantasy Writer. He began his career as a fantasy professional in 1996 at CBS Sportsline, where he served as Managing Editor of Fantasy Sports and Senior Writer during his tenure. In 2006, Scott was named Fantasy Football Writer of the Year by the Fantasy Sports Writer's Association in his first year of eligibility. Scott was also a founding member of the Fantasy Sports Writer's Association's Executive Committee. Scott was born and raised in Flushing, New York, and now lives in the town of Bayside, Queens. He has been a New York Mets fan since 1968 and has been a Seattle Seahawks fan since 1983. Scott celebrated his 14th wedding anniversary with his wife, Victoria, in 2008 and they have a 13-year-old son, Sean. Ben Ice – “Scott’s experience and leadership in the fantasy sports industry over the last 12 years is a perfect fit for our business. His coverage of fantasy football is stellar and we value his ability to add sports such as Arena Football and NASCAR to our content mix. Hiring Scott was the easiest decision I’ve had to make in our short tenure as a fantasy sports site.” Contact Scott at

. | | Matthew Greber Senior Writer Matthew began playing fantasy sports back when Otis Thorpe was a value pick at forward, Haywood Jeffires was a top-5 WR and Andy Van Slyke helped him win a fantasy championship. These days, he obsesses and writes about fantasy football and baseball. Hey, it beats facing the real day-to-day realities of rooting for the San Francisco 49ers and Giants, two teams that have some struggles. (To put it lightly.) As a former contributing writer and associate editor of Talented MrRoto.com, Matthew (Matt, Greebs, whatever) has been writing about fantasy sports for several years, as well as an occasional foray into the world of movies for MSNMovies and ManhattanMovieMagazine.com. Shortly before the All-Star Break this season, he’s due to become a father for the first time, and he looks forward to submitting many incoherent columns fueled on an unhealthy lack of sleep. | | Jonathan Phillips Senior Writer At age eighteen, Jon was inspired to start writing by his cousin Mike, but was terrible. In fact, his fiction writing professor in college hated every single story of his except one. And this one gave Jon some hope. Nineteen years later, he and Mike make up a writing team (now) represented for TV and Feature Films in Los Angeles, California. He's performed stand-up comedy (he was so darn funny, he really was), is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory (he still improvises to this day -- how else do you think he gets to the casino so often during work hours?) and is one step away from opening his own torn clothing line called Starving Artists. Our tag line is "the clothes barely fit the man," and there's a picture of a beat up kid with torn clothes hanging off of him. Writing for rotisserie sports came from his proclivity to win his fantasy football leagues, and in 2005, he was an open pen semi-finalist for TalentedMrRoto.com. He was subsequently hired and wrote for the website for two years. He can be reached at

| | Paul Bourdett
Senior Writer
Paul is the resident rookie here at rotoexperts.com. While he may not have as impressive a resume as some of our more experienced writers, he has won a number of leagues in which he's played, including the infamous "Pablo Slam", where he won a football, baseball, and basketball league all in a 365 day period. He’s also been known for leading many a league in transactions and trade offers, as well as message board posts calling out cheaters and deadbeats. He comes to us highly recommended by a friend who writes in the industry.
On the professional level, he spent 3 years working as a freelance game logger for CBS Sports, keeping track of stats and highlights for NCAA football/basketball and NFL halftime and post-game shows. He was later canned for showing up late after pulling a 9pm-5am shift at the local bar.
If you’re looking for stats and splits, this mofo’s got the goods. Whether he's at work, at home, or out and about, you can be sure there's a stat tracker of some sort running in the background on his desktop, laptop, or smartphone. If proudly admitting to keeping running stats for a full season of Lakers v. Celtics as a young child doesn’t scream obsession, we don’t know what does. | | Tom Lorenzo
Writer
Tom is a former fantasy writer for the Talented Mr. Roto and NBA.com. He is a self-proclaimed "expert" in fantasy basketball and baseball and he's been playing fantasy football for nearly 14 years now, so we won't sell him short on that end. He even has a fantasy hockey ring under his belt, but let's not go there. His credentials? He received his undergrad degree at the same school as Rik Smits and attended graduate school at the same school Lou Gehrig attended. They were both well-known fantasy players. Interestingly enough, Tom does not long for the days when scores were tabulated daily per the morning newspaper's boxscores.
Tom can currently be read at the comedy blog Lolabrigada.com and can be seen strutting his funny mug at various comedy venues in NYC. He still holds the current record for most points scored in a single game at his old junior high. He hopes to cut a ribbon one day for that feat. | | Matt Wirkiowski Writer Matt has been writing about fantasy sports since 2006, and managing fantasy teams since the first Bush administration. Matt is hoping he lives long enough to see one championship from his beloved Indians, Browns, or Cavaliers, and you can usually find him stranded in an airport, trying to get home. Cheer Matt up by sending him an e-mail to

. | | Mike Gilbert Writer Mike has been writing for over 30 years, since age 5. Over that time, his style has changed dramatically, from the rudimentary “See Spot run,” to the more erudite, “Dog, if you don’t let go of that ball, I will end you!” While he initially dismissed fantasy sports as, “Dungeons & Dragons with beer,” his realization that you could win money playing them ended his days of betting on the ponies forever. Since 1998, Mike has lived for fantasy football draft day, likening it to Christmas morning. Over that time, his middle name has been ‘Winner’ and/or ‘Champion, ’ and his winning streak is such that he had a custom made t-shirt with the legend “I’m #1” printed on the front in glittery iron-on letters. Since 2005, he has blogged about football, politics, music and his kid, his four non-Star Wars related passions. Currently, you can find him reviewing records and generally taking a piss out of the indie rock and electronic music scenes at his website, Booming Din.com. | | Jon Williams Writer John toiled for many years at various jobs he found unsatisfying. His frequent distraction since 1989 has been fantasy baseball. In those olden days with out a computer or the plethora of fantasy experts to assist him Jon silently worked on his unique strategies which succeeded in bringing him fantasy gold time and time again.. Then the boom of home computers caught on and Jon discovered the internet and all it had to offer. A few days later Jon finished the internet and decided he had better add some content of his own. It began in various blogs not worth remembering but finally seemed to strike a chord writing about the New York Yankees at bronxpride.com. Since then his work has appeared on Sports Blurb, Talented Mr. Roto, NBA.com, Foxsports.com and a dozen sites you’ve never heard of. Someday Jon hopes to be recognized as the fantasy genius he is in his own mind… | | Doug Anderson
Senior Editor
Doug has been playing fantasy baseball in some form for over 25 years, beginning with Strat-O-Matic immediately following his birth. The 1985 Strat-O-Matic season was especially memorable with Keith Moreland inexplicably hit 60+ HR (If you roll the dice enough times something good will happen). "Rotodaddy," currently teaches 3rd grade in Central Florida, which gives him valuable insight into the minds of the average fantasy player. Mr. Anderson specializes in deeper monoleagues, but has come to grudgingly accept the reality that is mixed leagues. | | Mark Strausberg Writer Mark Strausberg is a physical specimen who does all the little things that don't show up in the stat column while taking it one game at a time because pound for pound he has tremendous potential upside giving 110% between the lines until the whistle blows. So, get your game face on and go the distance to email him at

. | | Jeff Andriesse Writer
RotoExperts.com has scoured the web for the finest in fantasy sports content, yet still decided to hire Jeff Andriesse. A veteran of fantasy sports and even geekier pastimes dating back to his childhood, Jeff brings the mindset of a jilted lover to the proceedings. His unique take on all things fantasy - pessimism and disenchantment with a pinch of despair - has led to a Deepak Choprah-like following at Rotowhine.com, where tortured fantasy souls gather to lament blown saves, goalline backs and anything related to Jermaine O'Neal.
Jeff founded Rotowhine in 2004 and has been the blog's editor, head writer and designer since an overhaul in 2007. He also wrote a weekly NBA column for FantasyFanatics.com during the 2007-08 season. Jeff is a graphic designer by trade, spent a decade as a sports information director in college athletics and has a degree in journalism. You'd think he'd do more with all of this than bitch about his fantasy teams.
Jeff is an NBA diehard who grew up on a steady diet of Bird, McHale and Parish. Now that his beloved Celtics have finally won another one, he promises to tone down his cynicism and celebrate the 15-20 games Jermaine O'Neal does play per season. Three words: Glass. Half. Full.
Rinse and repeat. | | Brad Rysz Writer Brad Rysz began playing fantasy sports over ten years ago. His writing has been featured in Inside Wisconsin Sports magazine. Brad's obsession with fantasy baseball, basketball, and football over the years has forced him to disregard studying, working, his family, and even the occasional girlfriend to make sure that his "lineups were set", but he says it has been so worth it. Brad loves fantasy sports so much that he would rather give up beer than his fantasy teams. If it came down to it, what would you give up for fantasy sports? Share with Brad at

| | Kyle Stack Writer Kyle Stack is a proud native of Los Angeles and alumnus of Montana State University. He remains a devoted fan of the Lakers, Dodgers, 49ers, UCLA Bruins and his (Fighting) Bobcats. Kyle was the sports editor of MSU's student newspaper, The Exponent, for two years, and he co-hosted an off-campus sports talk radio show, The RedZone, with a pair of friends for nine months before graduating. He moved to New York City in June 2007, where he now works as a fantasy writer for MLB.com as well as a freelance sports writer for amNew York. Ultimately, his goal is to provide readers (and, hopefully in the future, listeners) with objective, insightful and entertaining sports analysis. Even with the Lakers' recent loss in the NBA Finals, Kyle hasn't cut himself off from human contact (at least not since the first day after Game 4). . | | Christopher Bangs Writer “I’m all that and then some, tall dark and handsome …” nope that’s not right. “I’m a writer, a poet, a genius, I know it …” that’s not it either. “I’m a sexual innuendo in this burned out paradise …” WHOA! So much for defining Bangs by song. From the paper and pencil days, when getting the weekly stats in USA Today was the highlight of the week, to now having all that stats you could ever desire at your fingertips, Bangs has been in the action, whether the fantasy sport is baseball, football, or basketball. Formerly a news reporter for NBA.com and TalentedMrRoto.com, writing for ROTOEXPERTS helps distract Bangs away from the sluggish real estate market, his 80’s music, and his annoying habit of referring to himself in the third person. Bangs is happily married (sorry ladies) with two kids and a nice house in the “northwest ‘burbs” of NYC. Drop him a note or hit him with a question any time at

He wrote weekly columns for TalentedMrRoto.com, and has also appeared on ESPN.com and other websites, and was nominated for a Fantasy Sports Writer Association award in 2005.
Wade played intercollegiate baseball and golf, and also coached baseball at the college level. He’s worked as a journalist, photographer, computer geek, on-air radio talent and has even performed a wedding. When he isn't playing fantasy sports, you can find Wade hacking up the links in St. Louis or cheering on his St. Louis Cardinals, Blue or Rams. | | Jonathan Huang Writer Born in the streets of Philly (well not really, but the Philly part is true), and the youngest of the Rotoexperts, Jonathan Huang has already made a name for himself writing for Fantasy Basketball Cafe and various other sites. Phil Eletto
Writer
A certified (some would say certifiable) love of Strat-O-Matic, combined with a failed attempt at a baseball career, led Phil to fantasy sports in the late 80’s. Passion for sports statistics and unconventional thinking lead him to Columbia ’s Sports Management program and writing for SNY.com, YES.com and his current gig at MLB.
Using his marriage-jeopardizing study time will mean many more playoff games than early trips to the golf course for you. Nothing however is a replacement for you to customize to your own league’s specifications. Fantasy Phil is to fantasy sports fans what Captain Kirk is to trekkies, a legend based on a myth in his own mind. Bring him back to Earth by emailing him at

Andy Bottoms
Writer
While others were experimenting with booze, drugs, and god only knows what else during their formative college years, Andy chose to expand on what at the time was a healthy interest in fantasy sports—and drinking. That was nearly ten years ago but as his family, friends, and co-workers can attest, that interest has since reached new and sometimes troubling levels thanks to his participation in multiple fantasy baseball and football leagues and a more recent interest in college fantasy football. In terms of writing, Andy covered fantasy baseball and football for three years at GetSportsInfo.com while living in Cincinnati and also served as the Reds scout for TMR for about a year.
As far as fan allegiances, Andy lives and breathes IU basketball and college hoops in general which makes him a perfect fit for our NCAA coverage, and that’s not just because he will have plenty of free time to cover the tournament for us when March rolls around thanks to former coach and program wrecker Kelvin Sampson. While basketball is worshipped in Indiana, Andy would like to point out that he grew up shooting hoops in his driveway and not against the side of a barn like you see in all the March Madness promos or in the middle of a field like Jimmy Chitwood. Andy also loves IU football which will undoubtedly be an exercise in futility for the rest of his natural life, cheers on the Eagles as they consistently exhibit some of the worst game and clock management in NFL history, and watches helplessly as the Reds continue to tarnish a once proud and storied franchise. And oh yeah, he loves his wife and daughter too. |

Trevor Lane
Writer
Trevor Lane is an NBA expert who fell in love with the game during the Showtime era. He used to practice Kareem's sky hook in the driveway for hours on end until he found out that it doesn't work (or look nearly as cool) when you are vertically challenged. Undaunted, Trevor has been following the NBA and his beloved Lakers ever since.
Trevor stumbled upon fantasy basketball in 2000 when he ditched a college history course and spent the morning searching basketball web sites instead. Ironically Trevor is now a credentialed history teacher, but still has the love for fantasy basketball that began on that fateful morning.
Trevor has been writing online since 2001 and spent last season writing for NBA.com after winning the inaugural Fan Blogger contest. He has also managed several blogs as well as a website or two over the years, and currently is working on a novel that he hopes to finish sometime before the Kurt Rambis look comes back in style. |

Frank Mazzola
Writer
Frank Mazzola joined Rotoexperts in September 2008 to help provide hockey coverage. He began his foray into the Fantasy sports world by playing fantasy football back in 2000. His first three picks in that inaugural draft were Steve McNair, Jimmy Smith and the St. Louis Defense... which proved that he really could have used the help of the Rotoexperts team back then.
He moved onto fantasy hockey, which was a much better fit. Having been a New York Islander fan since 1977 (yes, that makes him quite old), he grew to love the game and devours hockey statistics like a whale swallows plankton. This knowledge has served him well, garnering him much hardware in his metaphorical trophy case . He also got better at fantasy football, winning three dynasty league championships in consecutive years (partly due to the excellent advice he received from Scott Engel when he was with ESPN).
In 2007, after working in several different careers (retail, advertising and health club sales), Frank, with the support (and permission) from his lovely wife, decided to chuck it all and become a freelance sportswriter specializing in fantasy. To this end, he launched his own blog, Pigskins & Pucks, in July of that year. The site covered...well, football and hockey.
He has written articles over the past year for Sportstalkbuzz.com, Sportsbuff.com and Rumormethis.com, covering the NY Jets, the Islanders, the WWE, fantasy hockey and fantasy football. Frank is also a member of the Fantasy Sports Writers Association.
He lives in Brooklyn, NY with his author and style expert wife, Bridgette Raes. |

Hector Castro
Writer
Hector Castro might have joined RotoExperts.com in 2008, but he became a household name in 1999, when he first made an appearance on ESPN's "Plays of the Week." OK, OK, so truth is, it had nothing to do with his athletic ability. He made headlines when as the St. Peter's College Peacock he accidentally stepped on a player's face during a MAAC Tournament Women's Basketball game! Ouch.
Hector's success since, fortunately, has been no accident. A member of the Fantasy Sports Writers Association, Hector co-founded Auction Players, LLC, a one-stop source for all your auction, draft and fantasy advice needs, in 2002. He also resides with his wife in northern New Jersey, where he has helped run his successful family business, and was a finalist for the leading role in "Fantasyland: The Documentary," in 2008, before joining our team.
Today, Hector is a co-host of RotoExperts.com's "RotoRadio: Hoops Edition," he's an expert in fantasy baseball, football and basketball and he's a contributor on the business development and marketing side of things for the site. But even with all his success since, Hector remains true to his roots ... he still wears his Peacock costume in to work every day! Yikes.

Greg Kinzer
Writer
Greg Kinzer's first exposure to fantasy sports happened quite by accident, as he listened to co-workers talking about their upcoming 1996 Fantasy Football Draft and realized that this held his interest much more than work did. He overcame rookie drafting mistakes to make the fantasy football playoffs in his first year, won the title in 1997 and was officially hooked. From that experience grew an addiction that has included participating in multiple leagues and multiple sports, acting as commissioner for a period of time, founding and contributing to a fantasy football advice site, and making deals with his wife that the time spent on fantasy sports would be richly rewarded with prize money.
Greg's 6 foot 11 inch height made college and European pro basketball a reality, but upon his retirement he took up golf and has been addicted to the game ever since. He holds course records for longest drive (417 yards) and missed three-foot putts (too many to count). As with his other fantasy interests, Greg pursued fantasy golf in the same manner as previously mentioned and found time to write weekly advice articles for the past 2 1/2 years.
Greg is happily married to his loving (and patient) wife Mia, and has a 3 1/2 year old daughter, Avery. |

Joe Cutroni
Writer
Joe Cutroni joined Rotoexperts in August 2008 to help provide fantasy hockey coverage of the NHL’s Western Conference. Joe has been playing fantasy hockey since 1998 and has won numerous league championships. He currently sits atop his league’s standings and is aiming to capture the league’s fourth championship in eight seasons.
Joe’s first experience with hockey media occurred during his college internship in December 1991, when he was assigned to cover the NHL’s expansion announcement of Tampa Bay and Ottawa for the 1992-93 season. Joe joined the Florida Panthers organization in 1995 to assist with the team’s youth hockey program, and the job took on a whole new meaning during the “Year of the Rat” season. Joe turned into an “Orkin Man” at the Miami Arena during each home game, picking up a showering of fake rats thrown onto the ice after every Panthers goal. His highlight that season was standing on the ice within 10 feet from the Colorado Avalanche as they lifted Lord Stanley’s Cup. Seeing grown men cry over winning that trophy is something that he’s never forgotten.
Joe has been a life-long fan of hockey and was introduced to the greatest game in the world in 1975 during his first Rangers game in the famed “Blue Seats” of Madison Square Garden. He was immediately hooked and has bled red, white and blue every since.
Joe resides outside of Nashville, TN with his daughter Addison. As a Predators season-ticket holder, he has the luxury of watching the entire Western Conference play live. Joe also plays ice hockey in a men’s league and still has the same excitement lacing up the skates as he did when he was a kid.
Let’s Go Rangers! |

Eno Sarris
Writer
Eno Sarris feels that fantasy baseball has been his anchor on stormy seas his whole life. While he has lived all over the world (Negril, Hamburg, Atlanta, Palo Alto, San Francisco, London, Jersey City, and New York City to name a few), fantasy has always been there for him. Even if he looked like Andersen Varejao and swung like Christian Guzman, it didn't matter, his fantasy team would still dominate. He also hopes that you enjoy his baseball and basketball analysis.
Though he's only been writing for a little over two years, the Fantasy Sports Writers Association awarded the relative rookie for his writing in 2009. On the other hand, fantasy trophies have been falling out of his closet for some time now. Contact Eno at

Chris Ryan
Writer
As a small child, Chris spent his mornings before school positioned inches from the television, eating Pop-Tarts, and watching SportsCenter on a loop. While other children his age were playing with G.I. Joe's and Transformers, Chris, or "The Rex" as he sometimes refers to himself, kept in-depth statistics for full 82 game basketball seasons...that he played against himself. In his basement. On a plastic Fisher-Price goal. As he grew into an awkward teenager, he realized that his own playing days were limited due to Bengie Molina-esque foot speed, so he began looking for another outlet to satisfy his love of sports and passion for statistics. Hello fantasy football. His career started inauspiciously enough -- he used the first overall pick to take Terrell Davis, who subsequently obliterated his ACL, while his "super-sleeper," the infamous Rae Carruth, broke his foot in Week Two...and then, you know, was arrested for killing someone -- but Chris rose from the ashes of that first draft debacle to become a dominant fantasy force, well known throughout the industry as a top-flight contender no matter what the sport or the format (and by industry, we mean his family and friends).
After spending four years in college composing late night drunken emails to league mates pontificating on such topics as, "Who had more fantasy value in their prime, Rik Smits or Mark Eaton?" and "10 reasons why Pat Burrell makes me want to start cutting myself," The Rex decided it was time to share his opinions with a broader audience. Hello Rotoexperts. He currently resides in the great state of Indiana and possesses an unhealthy to the point of creepy obsession for David Wright, Zach Miller and Ramon Sessions. |

Chris Carbonell
Writer
Born on the mean streets of Spanish Harlem, NY, Chris Carbonell (or "Starbonell") has always carried a certain swagger. Bred as a die-hard Yankees and football Giants fan, it was only natural that fantasy dominance would ensue when a young Starbo' would discover online leagues in 2004 that allowed him to flash his sports know-how while also letting him talk his fair share of smack. Though he's considered by some to still be "new" to the fantasy game, he's collected more hardware than Home Depot with title after title being the end result of most leagues he's participated in.
Chris has worked for Fantasy Sports Update! and One Ten News as a staff writer and editor, and is a member of the Fantasy Sports Writers Association. He's known as much for his ever-growing list of nicknames (Kid Clutch, Stat-Smear, Young Ric Flair to name a few) as his competitive nature. His writing has been known to stir the pot at times, but regardless of how you feel about the man personally, you can't knock his hustle.
Today, Kid Clutch is a single father who lives in Farmingdale, Long Island with his long-time girlfriend Jennie where, despite numerous domestication attempts, he still blasts loud gangsta rap with the gusto of a brash 19-year old.

Bill Root is a lawyer and a fantasy sports junkie. They say all lawyers have addictive personalities. Well, at least Bill's addiction is legal and safe. Bill has been involved in fantasy sports for the past 18 years. He has a unique love for competitive dynasty football leagues and strategic simulation games like Scoresheet Baseball.
Everyone hates lawyers. So, Bill became a fantasy sports writer to raise his approval rating. Plus, he got sick of giving beat downs to his fantasy opponents, and decided he needed a new challenge. Bill joined the RotoExperts team in 2008 and has been a member of our fantasy baseball team since he came aboard. Antonio D’Arcangelis
Writer
Antonio D’Arcangelis is a 33-year-old wordsmith from Upstate New York who drinks way too much Captain Morgan and doesn’t go to enough Yankee games. He’s a former newspaper reporter and columnist who writes for New York State and thinks the steroid controversy needs an injection of education, not sanctimony.
When he’s not tinkering with his fantasy teams and proposing multi-player deals to unsuspecting rivals, he’s either writing, reading, painting, freestyle rapping, deejaying/emceeing a party, playing poker, laying off carbs or watching American Idol. Despite the breadth of his interests and acumen for fantasy success, he is not yet the international playboy he fancies himself – largely because he’s still too fat and can’t afford a private charter.
Antonio is lucky to have a loving family, a longtime girlfriend who still puts up with his antics and an ability to communicate that he inherited from his father. He’s currently a football writer for fftoday.com, where’s been since 2004, but has finally broken into the sabermetric world of fantasy baseball writing with Rotoexperts. Simultaneously a Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees fanatic, he prides himself on not being a New York Giants or Boston Red Sox hater – since he believes tolerance is the most important trait a person can possess.
Antonio’s favorite writer is Kurt Vonnegut, his favorite director is David Lynch, and despite his love for the Yankees, he thinks Derek Jeter should be euthanized or moved from shortstop, where his range is down to about five feet in either direction. He’s a 10-handicap whose strengths on the course are putting, chipping and recovery, and he’s currently looking for a golf writing gig so he can get press passes to the 2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage’s Black Course. | Robert Poe Operations Robert is a true Florida cracker. He still lives in his boyhood town, Dunedin Florida; spring training home of the Toronto Blue Jays. Robert’s passion for sports runs deep. Growing up he spent all his free time playing sports or memorizing the backs of baseball cards. His first job was working at the Englebert complex for the Blue Jays. His college days at Florida State were mostly wasted pouring over USA Today’s sports section at 3 or 4 in the morning entering baseball stats into Lotus 123. Ask him to string two sentences together and he might struggle. Ask him to build a spreadsheet with complex values to analyze baseball stats, and you have your man. His not-so-healthy obsession earned him a spot in Roto-7, a developmental league at Baseball HQ in which he dominated most of the season against some of the top Sabermetric minds in fantasy. A year later he landed a gig as the Tampa Bay Rays scout for Talented Mr Roto. He parlayed that into a job as a datacaster for MLB.com, where he scores Rays games and gets to hang out in the press box with the media big shots. He is now responsible for web operations at RotoExperts.com and is still wondering how the hell he got roped into that gig, but it is baseball so it’s not all that bad after all. Holla at

When I asked Jason Revelia to Join the RotoExperts team, I have to admit that it was out of self-defense. Jason, Bob Poe and I play in several redraft and dynasty leagues, both football and baseball, and Jason always seems to be in the championship game, including thwarting my Big Hooties squad last year in Norton’s Baseball League. He pulled out an improbable victory when the (then) Devil Rays decided to sit James Shields after I’d set my lineup. I lost on a tiebreaker. He told me that he had already written his capitulation on the last day of the season when my pitching suddenly took a nasty ERA hit. My team was flat out filthy, but somehow he pulled out the win. Like I said…self-defense. Jason, who goes by several nicknames, some of them unmentionable in mixed company, is the guy in your league who always has the player you plan to grab from the waiver wire. You catch a whiff, a scent of someone who could be that diamond in the rough, the one who gets you over the hump, and when you search you realize Jason picked him up yesterday. He’s uncanny that way…no, make that a little frightening. You see, Jason is a freak. He subscribes to every conceivable live game feed and would rather go over the Hawaiian Winter League stats then watch Game Five of the World Series. Trust me when I say you want to follow this guy. For me it’s classic Sun Tzu…keep your enemies closest. I’m taking that advice to heart. The bottom line is, this is someone you want giving you fantasy advice. I just want to steal his secrets and kick his ass for last year’s loss….but I digress. Jason believes that winning a fantasy leagues doesn’t happen on draft day. It’s the guys called up from the minors, the bench players next in line when a starter goes down, who wins the day and the league. If you believe that too, stick around. If you don’t…I believe we have some room in a few of our money leagues for you. Oh and as much as he likes baseball he is an even bigger Tampa Bay Bucs fan. | |
