Muna Taka Murakami has a ton of juice. He has a ton of swing and miss. Give me the TLDR on Muna Taka Murakami, and then we'll talk Bregman and Murakami and what their total money could look like. It's funny, Murakami is almost becoming like overheated at this point, you know, I think there was a point in time where everyone's saying, you know, he, he's the Babe Ruth, and then now if, if you're on X or if you're, you know, listening to some of the just the commentary about him, now it seems like he's, he's. It's been too harsh. Like everyone's talking about his, you know, with and uh some of the numbers against 93+ and all that stuff. They never see 93+. So yes, velocity can be an issue, um, but it's such a small sample that I really don't take a ton from, you know, numbers versus 93 + and And NPB when, you know, unless it's egregious, but it's not that far off from what he does. Murakami has some of the best raw power, um, that, that you're gonna see and and and that's period. Like it's, it's some of the best raw power, and that's what I think makes him really interesting. He's also 25 years old. So when you have a guy that's 25 years old, he'll be 26 years old at the start of the season, who's capable of producing, you know, near 80 grade exit velocities. Uh, even if he whiffs a ton, you're getting an opportunity here to get him with, you know, especially with, with the team that he picks, a really good development infrastructure, some simple things to maybe clear, clean up some of the contact, you know, issues that he has and that come, come with, I think, the, the huge power and he elevates the ball consistently. So, like I, I, I think. I think the people that expect him to be, you know, a complete superstar might be a little bit ambitious, but I also think the people that think he's just not gonna hit enough period, are also a little bit ambitious. You put his numbers side by side with Otani's same age in NPB. They both had very similar deficiencies and you could argue that Murakami's numbers are better. Otai's obviously a better hitter, but again, it's just a reminder that you got to give these guys a little bit of leeway. That said, I'm not giving $200 million to a player that needs Some leeway and that needs some coaching. Um, so that's why I think his market becomes interesting, but I am giving, you know, close to $100 million and I think somebody will probably get more than that at the opportunity to potentially develop somebody that has the upside to be one of the best power hitters in the game if it all does click. So, a lot of, I, I see a lot of this stuff on social media trying to find the mid-level comp to Murakami, because the high-level comp is obviously like a Kyle Schwarber. The mid-level comp are guys, you know, not the peak of his powers, but when you look at the career averages of Chris Davis in Baltimore, Chris with a C, not Chris with a K, that's the comp that people love throwing around, and Mark Reynolds and Adam Dunn, a guy that's gonna strike out a lot, but also hit a bunch of homers, and the average is gonna be low. I'm curious if you see a current day. Equivalent or like loose comp to Muna Takamurakami that isn't Kyle Schwarber because Schwarber is obviously the 100th percentile outcome. He's gonna swing and miss, but he's gonna hit 50. Yeah, I, I would say, and, and. You know, I think On the like right away kind of translation, Matt Wallner is the one that I just keep going back to. And I know some people might be like, oh, well, that much money for Matt Walker. Matt Waller with room for more is kind of the point, right? Where Warner, I mean, he had 22 home runs in 103 games this past year and Um, you know, he's a little bit more athletic than he gets credit for, but he's gonna hit the living crap out of the ball. He's gonna pull a ton of homers, and the thing is, is, yeah, he, he hits the ball a little bit harder than Warner even. So, I, I think that's probably the closest like, hey, this is what I think he can be on, like, you know, Right away, uh, and then you have the hope that he can blossom into, you know, more he can blossom into something more than that, you know, as he continues and, and get closer to that Schwarber threshold and everything like that. But I would say Walner is kind of the more immediate, uh, you know, kind of comparison that I, I keep going to.
