Best Bet #1: Oklahoma City Thunder -9 (-110) vs. Los Angeles Lakers

Tonight’s marquee matchup features two Western Conference contenders as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the league-best Oklahoma City Thunder (60-16) host Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers (50-26). Both the Thunder and Lakers come into this one red-hot, having won nine of their past ten games. However, for LA, going into the Paycom Center is a completely different beast, as evidenced by their status as 9.0-point road underdogs.

The Thunder boast a staggering 32-6 home record and have already beaten the Lakers twice this season, including a 121-92 blowout in OKC. Los Angeles certainly has the star power to keep it competitive early. Still, the Thunder’s depth, pace, and unmatched +11 average point differential should allow them to pull away in the second half and cover the number.

Best Bet #2: Detroit Pistons -3.5 (-110) vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

If you had told anyone before the season that the Detroit Pistons would be 55-21 and the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference by April, they wouldn’t have believed you. Detroit has been the biggest story in the NBA this year, and they present strong value tonight at Little Caesars Arena against a Timberwolves team that may once again be without Anthony Edwards (questionable due to knee soreness).

These teams just met last Saturday, with the Pistons blowing out the T-Wolves 109-87 in a game Edwards missed. Even if “Ant" suits up, Detroit is in a great spot to cover the 3.5-point spread.

The Pistons, who rank eighth in offense (117.5 PPG) and third in defense (109.6 PPG), are a dominant 29-9 SU at home, averaging a 10.2-point margin of victory. Furthermore, Minnesota’s defense struggles on the road, allowing nearly eight more points per game (118.1) than at home (110.4). Expect another comfortable Pistons victory in Motown.
