And these spread lines, maybe some of the best you're gonna see. Why? Because we're talking about college football playoff games, Joe, let's start here. Alabama and Oklahoma. This is a rematch. We saw Oklahoma's devastating defense go on the road to Tuscaloosa and poured a victory over Alabama, one of the biggest wins of the season. FanDuel, Joe. Actually opened up Alabama as a 1.5 point favorite. FanDuel today still sits at 1.5. DraftKings actually sits at 1.5 as a favorite for Oklahoma. An 8 p.m. kickoff from Norman, Oklahoma's defense, Alabama's been leaking oil down the stretch. Joe, what is your spread line for this game early? Well, it's important we all remember that these 4 1st round playoff games are all on the home campus sites of the higher seeds. So in this case, Donnie, we're in Norman, Oklahoma here on this Friday game, December 19th, 8 o'clock Eastern time. And you're right, uh, Alabama, the slight favorite to open up, and now, There's Phas in a lot of spots. We have seen it flip in a, in a few other spots, and you would think a home field advantage in this equation would certainly, especially given what we just saw from Alabama against Georgia, and the history of Oklahoma actually beating Alabama in Tuscaloosa, that maybe, just maybe, we'd get a little bit more towards. Oklahoma. But no, it seems to be pretty much straight up a pick them, is what the market seems to think we have here. Haven't seen a whole lot going on with the total at this point. It seems very low, Donnie, 40.5, but given what we've seen from that OU defense and offense, it might not be low enough here. We gotta keep an eye on it. Do have to keep an eye on at this point right now, but you get excited for this too, cause that's a great game that's gonna be lining up an SEC battle right now. We know both of these teams certainly want to win and advance big-time fan bases and maybe it just goes to the defense right now of Oklahoma. Neither one of those offenses, Joe, certainly on their P's and Q's right now. Got another good one down there, Kyle Field a 12 o'clock kickoff on a Saturday, which means, Joe, that's 11 o'clock. a.m. local time, the Miami Hurricanes and the Texas A&M Aggies, the line opened up at 3.5, still sits at the majority of outlets show at 3.5. DraftKings is showing a 4 right now, but a total of 51.5. A&M knew they were getting in. Miami is in now. I know the energy is certainly high, but can Miami pull off an upset or is Texas A&M and the SEC going to move on, Joe, what's your spread line here? Well, listen, we, we talked about Texas A&M all year long and that schedule of theirs was a little head scratching because they never played any of the top teams that were ranked in, uh, the SEC until, well, of course, uh, that one game there at the end in which they lost and lost their way against Texas, uh, and played themselves out of the SEC championship game. This line was kind of. Split between 3.5 and 4 across the market when it opened up Sunday night. The total was anywhere between 51 and 52, kind of hanging out right in the middle there, Donnie. We're still seeing that 51.5, and we are starting to see again, 4, 3.5, somewhere in that point there. But listen, we can all agree, right? That Miami is a favorite, uh. Miami is an underdog, yeah, yeah, that is something I would very much uh be interested in seeing, Donnie, on whether or not the market believes that just by, you know, by slipping in, apparently there, Miami, are they good enough to do some damage? And uh I think this number, and take the 4 now because I think this number is gonna go towards Miami when we get closer to kick. Yeah, I think it is as well too. Two teams coming in. It's fun, man. It's great talking about big-time college football meaning. Like what would be more fun, Joe? A playoff game with Miami or Texas A&M or the Peach Bowl with Miami and Texas A&M. This is why we love the expanded playoff. Get the good teams here playing, put them at home. That is gonna be unbelievable. 110,000+ fans. In those stands here going wild at that point. Love to see it here. How about Ole Miss? They're gonna get a home game as well, Joe, taking on Tulane. Feels like a bye-week. Line opened up at 16.5, now sits 17.5 and a high total of 56.5. Golding, the new head coach, Lane Kiffin is out of town. What's the spread line for this one between Ole Miss and Tulane? Well, this is, this is another one of those prime examples of how do we have the 12 best teams in the country, Donnie, and we have a game in which Uh, over 3 scores, uh, is what this is what this line is. You're telling me Tulane's in the, oh, no, wait, if we had only seen this game, oh yeah, we did see this game earlier this season, yeah, 45 to 10, Ole Miss destroyed Tulane. Ole Miss passed for 307 yards. Oh yeah, ran for 241. 0, Tulane threw it all over the place for 104 yards. Uh, listen, it. This is, it's kind of tough to gauge where we are with this Ole Miss team, given the fact that Lane Kiffin and the whole, you know, soap opera exit. It'll be interesting, I think, to see where this goes. Currently, uh, at 16.5, 17.5, we're still seeing a little bit of Ole Miss money, uh, but it's clear that the market thinks one team belongs, and the other team doesn't in this game. College football news and not it's hot and heavy lately. Why? We had so much excitement on Sunday at 12 noon here, letting it play out. They delayed it for like 40 minutes before they told you, hey, Miami's in the college football playoffs, so is Alabama, but Notre Dame is gonna get the shaft because they have that two group of 5 teams in. We'll never get this right. We'll always be arguing, even if they expanded to 2014 teams, like, you can't leave out USC at 26. It's always gonna be that way, but it just feels like this year, you actually have legitimate teams getting left out that we think. Could have made a push here. No, Joe, we talk about these legitimate teams making a push, it's because they have great football players. One of these players is going to be playing in a championship game, we think, Fernando Mendoza and or Julian Sayan. Two guys that have been invited to New York City and the Downtown Athletic Club. Two guys who won't be playing, Jeremiah Love and Diego Pavia. If we look at those four players, Joe, deserving to be there, 3 quarterbacks and 1 tailback. And, and no shock to anybody, right? Cause those 4 guys for the most part have been in that conversation all year long. So that should be, uh, that should be interesting. Usually a quarterback award, Donnie, but you never know. Uh, we'll see if, uh, we'll see if maybe Love can get it done. Maybe, maybe that's their way of smoothing things over. What do you think? They give their running back the Heisman, just as a, just as like, uh, an olive branch to say, oops, we're sorry for leaving you out in the playoffs. Exactly. So, you know what, come back to us and uh play football still in the ACC and away you go. But the one thing I do get a kick out of, like, you know, you had Love had such a good season, but really out of the spotlight for most of because Notre Dame didn't play anybody for about 10 straight weeks. And then he hits that pose like for the Heisman. Again, he was really good at Stanford. And the, the, uh, I, I think it was maybe an Instagram post he had, it's like, it's been real, Notre Dame. It's like, oh, what do we know? He's they didn't make the college football playoffs, but this was last week that it happened. He's got a 1% chance on. Calci to win the Heisman. He's not gonna do that, which brings me to the next player. It's Fernando Mendoza who has a 93% chance on Calshi, which means if you splash down, Joe, a $100 wager, you'd get $7 back. So a 7% return on your money, which isn't great. But I was under the adage. And again, votes are being tabulated now. We don't know officially who's in. And if you're just looking at Mendoza right now at a $-2500 on that graphic, oh, he's a shoe and bet all your money. Again, Notre Dame was a min. 3000 to get into the college football playoffs, 3 minutes before that show started, only to kick Notre Dame out of the playoffs. So, the oddsmakers do not actually vote on who gets the Heisman Trophy. It's the team, excuse me, it's the Heisman Trophy winners of the past and some select guys from the AP. But understand this, I thought, Joe, if Mendoza, no matter what his statistics were, just beat Ohio State, he would get the Heisman, and it looks like, Joe, it's playing out that way, at least in the odds market. It is, uh, and listen, I, I don't think you can go wrong with either of those guys up at the top of the bar. I think there's a case, I can make a case for all of them, right, Donnie? Obviously, uh, if head to head matters, then, you know, Fernando Mendoza should have it over Julian Sae, but it's, uh, I can make a case for all of them. I don't think there's any sort of, I don't know that he's that big a favorite, but it, you know, I don't think any which way they go, you're gonna get a ton of pushback. No, you're not. You're not. And again, those guys all deserve to be there in New York City. I do think it would come down to me, Mendoza and Or Pavia here, which are the two best guys in the price range, but I do think Mendoza gets it and he deserves it. They're unbeaten. He was sensational. It's Indiana. I'm gonna give him a bump because he played there and they just beat Ohio State, the immovable object in the Big 10 championship game. Sometimes I wish they would hold off on the Heisman Trophy till after the college football. Playoff to see what's what, but we know the way they get down here. Probably gonna be Mendoza at this point. Now, we've been talking a lot about the ACC and Notre Dame and why they're so upset about this. Let's take a look at Mario Cristobal on if Miami wasn't in the college football playoffs. The thought that Notre Dame decided not to play in the bowl, was that something that the University of Miami had thought about as a scenario if you didn't, if the roles were reversed and you didn't get in. I would say first and foremost, I wouldn't comment on anybody else's situation because you never know. You never know exactly what's up, and I have too much respect for football and for Notre Dame to comment on their situation as it relates to us, um, you know, we, we haven't been faced with that situation and we don't ever expect, want to, or would really allow that situation to happen, but that's. Again, that's not a comment in any way, shape or form as it relates to them. You just don't know what each program is going through. Some programs. Lose a coach, sometimes you're gonna be down a ton of players and people have to make a decision, but yeah, I don't want to comment on anybody else's stuff because again, that's, it's just not my place and it's, it would be disrespectful, you know. Mm. By the way, is he trolling them with that color shirt right there? Looks like it could pass for a Notre Dame collared shirt, Joe. How about that? No, you never confuse the you with, uh, with them. Look at that. Isn't that nice though? I might have to go out and get that Adidas logo. That is nice. Yeah, that is sweet there, Mario. Yeah, I can't wait. Now what you can't do, Mario, is you can't go out and get blown out by Texas A&M. Otherwise, forget it. We'll never hear the end of it about how our Notre Dame should have been in. So yeah, it's go handle your business there, Mario, go handle it. Exactly. It was like when FSU said, well, we're not playing in the playoffs. It was up to Georgia to knock their block off, and then we all said, yeah, exactly. That's why FSU got left out. They got beat by 60 points a couple of weeks later. Miami, show up. They'll be there. It'll be fun. It'll be interesting to watch it play out here. How about Matt Campbell? His PSU presser. Welcome to State College. I'm gonna take a second. It's been a whirlwind, um. I'm gonna say this, I'm humbled, honored, grateful. To be standing before all of you, this world-class university, this world-class athletic department. And truly one of the greatest programs in the world. And it's an absolute honor to be the next head football coach here at Penn State University. The last 5 days have been a moment. They have been. And as fate had had, as fate has it. It's this full circle moment in my life, our family's life. This young boy that grew up in Masson, Ohio. No shot, no shit, no shot, no shot here, Joe. That, that, this has given me Joe Judge vibe. I watched Joe Judge. When I watched Joe Judge for the Giants who was opening presser, I knew he was a horrible coach. I'm already out at this point right now. I wanted to get behind this guy on. I thought it was a prank when he got there, you know, he said, this kid, guys, look, I'm kidding. Like the expectation here for me to be a champion. I got business, Joe. I can't. He's, he's crying at Penn State. All right, forgetting the job that I don't know, he was like the 9th choice. Like, dude, you were the only one left. Like that was it, everybody else said no, and, and, you know, parlayed it into more money. Uh, you were the only one left, so kudos, keep those tears up there. I am losing my mind this morning. First, the Eagles lose and then the coach is crying because he's at Penn State. Maybe he's crying because he has no, he has no chance to win here. How about that? Fun in the cowshy markets here. Now, look, look, I came on this show this morning, Joe. You don't see me crying. Like you don't see me crying. So, hey, the Eagles lost last night. I ain't get a team total and Give me a moment. Like, no, I came in with the energy this morning, the angry energy to get the people understanding how upset I am at that loss. Not crying, Joe. There's no crying in football. There's no crying in football. No, there, there's not, and it's just like, come on. Uh, and the, the, the best part about it though, Donnie, is I'm watching and I'm going, wait a minute, like you, you were the last guy to get hired. Like they literally had a list that included 30 other dudes other than you, and you're at the podium crying that you got the job. Like they picked you out of like 30 other guys. No, they didn't. You were the only one left. Save the tears, my goodness. Imagine that you get a pay upgrade. You coach at Penn State and you're up there crying. It's like, stop the madness, man. Just get out there and coach these guys up and try to go out and win. Because by the way, what he should have been crying was for the AED to say, thank you for giving me that schedule next year. I guess I never thought I'd had such an easy schedule. And the AD going like, hey kid, at Penn State, we have an easy schedule every year. You'll be just fine. So get out there and try to win some of these games. How about this? If you Win, you'll be there and you'll be a king. If you lose, you get fired just like everybody else. How about this cosy market today, Joe? Which college football coaches will be out before September? Do you know who the leader in the clubhouse is right now? It's Bill Belichick at North Carolina, followed by Derek Mason at Middle Tennessee, Dabo Swinney at Clemson. You have Jeff Chote, whatever the heck that is from the Nevada. A fake name for all I know. Greg Schiano at Rutgers, Rich Rodriguez, and then there's the fun one here down here. Mike Norvell, Florida State. He should be out, but Florida State would go bankrupt if they had to fire him, so he's got to stay at this point. Any thoughts, Joe, on any one of these college football coaches leaving before September, it can't be Belichick unless what? He's like, what, why is he going anywhere at this point? No, I, the only way is if he makes the jump back to the NFL. Yeah, if not, it's, you know, he is there in just long enough in order to pass the baton to his kids. So, uh, I think that's basically what that whole job is about. But, uh, listen, I can make the argument, why is Norvell even still there? I have no idea. No idea why he is still at Florida State here, because Florida State uh now celebrates mediocrity with football, apparently. Uh, but I would not shock, I don't think it gets any better for him, uh, so, uh, it would not shock me. He might be a good investment there because the, the seat is very hot there in Florida State.
