An award-winning network launched in 2014 by Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp., FNTSY Sports Network will provide fantasy content to The Associated Press , covering topics from free agent pickups to reviews of the weekend’s games.
Contributing content for this agreement are:
- Scott Engel — an inaugural member of the Fantasy Sports Writers Association’s Hall of Fame (inducted in 2010) and winner of multiple industry awards; currently managing director of RotoExperts, a fantasy content company founded in 2004 and acquired by Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp. in 2014.
- Adam Ronis — an award-winning radio host and award-nominated writer who has enjoyed the rare distinction of writing for Newsday, the New York Post and the (New York) Daily News.
- Nando Di Fino — winner of multiple awards for radio and video, he has written for The Wall Street Journal, ESPN and CBS Sports and is currently the director of programming at FNTSY Sports Network.
“I would have been thrilled to have an article of ours appear next to something that ran on the AP wire,” said Louis M. Maione, president of Fantasy Sports Entertainment Group. “But to go over the wires and to see our name pop up on the thousands of papers and websites that the AP serves is an honor and source of great pride. And I’m even more excited for the 60-plus million fantasy players out there who now have access to award-winning content thanks to the AP taking this bold step to include fantasy sports among its many offerings. It’s a forward-thinking move that addresses the demands of AP’s clients. This is a great day for us, and a huge day for our industry.”
“AP has increased its fantasy sports content for recent football seasons with its Fantasy Plays columns and fantasy points standings, but FNTSY provides a new level of expanded coverage to AP Sports subscribers,” said Barry Bedlan, AP’s sports products manager. “Fantasy is what drives some of the interest in certain sports, especially the NFL, and this arrangement will help us connect our subscribers with top-notch content focused on fantasy sports.”
