Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups: Notes

Now that we’re firmly entrenched in the Fantasy playoffs, stop worrying about depth. It’s irrelevant. Don’t get attached to your backups, even if they’re starting RBs. If Chris Polk, Antonio Andrews, Duke Johnson or even someone as productive as Frank Gore are on your team, and you’re not ever going to use them, cut them loose for a handcuff or a streaming QB/DST to use in the upcoming weeks. The only reason to hold on to a fringe starter is to keep them out of the hands of a potential playoff competitor you may come up against. That’s it. Your bench spots are ultra valuable, so use them wisely. Rostering three or four DSTs at this time of year isn’t crazy, it’s calculated. Not only do you give your team the opportunity to exploit optimal match ups, you dry up the waiver wire and force your competition to make panic decisions if their starters come up against tough opponents.

Week 15 Waiver Wire: RB Injuries

Thomas Rawls is finished for the season with a broken ankle. DuJuan Harris got 18 carries in his place (for a measly 42 yards). He’ll be the starter next week in a tremendous match up against the Browns. Fred Jackson will work some third downs and as the backup. Don’t expect to hear from Marshawn Lynch until Week 16 and, even then, he’ll likely still sit out. UPDATE: Seahawks sign Bryce Brown to complete for starting job with Harris. Jackson will remain third in his thord down role. UPDATE AGAINDuJuan Harris has reportedly been cut by Seattle. Go get Bryce Brown.

TJ Yeldon exited and never returned against the Colts with an knee injury. His status is unknown for Week 15. But it’s very clear, especially with Toby Gerhart on IR, that the NARD DOGDenard Robinson, will handle the full workload in the Jags backfield if Yeldon misses their Week 15 clash with the lowly Falcons. UPDATE: Jags declined to give any more news on Yeldon’s sprained knee, and won’t until Wednesday. Something’s up. With Seattle’s starting job in question, it’s best to grab Robinson and hope Yeldon misses time.

Jonathan Stewart injured his foot against Atlanta, but declared himself “fine”. J Stew: MD. Still, if the Panthers weren’t up by 10000000000000, it’s likely he would have stayed in the game. It appears like Fozzy Whittaker will work as the primary backup/fill in, but I’m not biting on him, no need.

LeGarrette Blount injured his hip Sunday night and went to the locker room. Brandon Bolden filled in on the ground, while James White’s role didn’t alter; he remained an active member of the passing game, and even plunged one in from in close. Although the Titans are a soft matchup, their much better against the run than pass, give me White over Bolden… or Blount for that matter.

Todd Gurley dealt with knee soreness in the fourth quarter but should be fine Thursday night against the Tampa Bay. Just keep an eye on his practice participation with the Rams suiting up on a short week. Tre Mason would be next up for St. Louis if Gurley can’t go; Benny Cunningham would serve as the third down back.

Jonathan Stewart is limping around in walking boot after sustaining a sprained foot. Fozzy Whittaker would be the Carolina back to plug-and-play should Stewart be forced to sit out.

Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups: QB Injuries

After trying too hard on defense following an interception, Andy Dalton is probably done for the season with a thumb injury. Week 15 for sure. AJ McCarron, he of the hot college girlfriend – now wife (gotta lock that down) – will take over under center for the Bengals. Dalton, he is not. He does seems to love tossing it in AJ Green and Marv Jones‘ direction, though. So that’s a positive.

Matt Hasselbeck is questionable for Week 15 after sustaining a rib injury against Jacksonville. Andrew Luck’s status is also unknown against the Dolphins. Charlie Whitehurst would start for Indy if neither can play. That’d be bad for any Colts’ skill position player. UPDATE: Chuck Pagano expects Hasselbeck to start against the Texans.

Brian Hoyer GOT ROCKED all Sunday night against New England, forcing TJ Yates into action. Yates would inherit a pretty gravy opportunity against Indy should Hoyer be fail to regain his equilibrium over the next six days. The Colts allow ALLLLLLLL the TDs. YATES VS CLIPBOARD JESUS: AFC SOUTH TITLE MATCH!!!!!!

Peyton Manning could return from his foot injury against the Steelers.

Week 16 Tough QB Match Ups

Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups: WR Injuries

Brian Hartline followed up his big Week 13 with an even bigger Week 14. And then he broke his collar bone. He’s out for the season.

Vincent Jackson left against the Saints with a knee injury in the second quarter and never returned. All this does is give Mike Evans and Austin Seferian-Jenkins the opportunity for more targets, which they’ll need in a tough match up in St. Louis. [UPDATE: V JAX is going to miss a few games. Droppable.]

Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups: Wide Receiver

  1. Willie Snead
  2. Kamar Aiken
  3. MARV Jones
  4. Tyler Lockett
  5. DeVante Parker
  6. Anquan Boldin
  7. Dorial Green-Beckham

  15. Nate Washington
  16. Chris Givens
  17. Rueben Randle
  18. Brandon Goldman Coleman
  19. Dwayne Harris
  20. Robert Woods
  21. Devin Funchess
  22. Rashad Greene
  23. JJ Nelson
  24. Marqise Lee
  25. Kenny Britt

Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups: TE Injuries

Greg Olsen’s knee got bent the wrong way, he left and never saw game-action again. The Panthers are saying it’s not a big deal and he should be ready for Week 15. However that’s certainly not a guarantee. Ed Dickson would fall backwards into a glorious situation against the Giants, but, there’s a problem, Dickson’s not any good.

Tyler Eifert got all dizzied up after suffering a blow to the cranium. He left with concussion and didn’t come back. Hopefully he can go in a soft Week 15 match up against the 49ers. To save to the time, I Googled it, Tyler Kroft is his backup.

Charles Clay left exited a back injury against the Eagles and was never seen again. Someone get his face on the side of a milk carton. Chris Gragg took over TE duties for the Bills. No need to worry yourself with him.

Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups: Tight End

  1. Zach Miller
  2. Austin Seferian-Jenkins
  3. Richard Rodgers
  4. Zach Ertz
  5. Will Tye
