Week 14 Waiver Wire: RB Injuries, News & Notes

Handcuffs. You want to have handcuffs, doesn’t matter if you have the starter or not. Sure, if you’re desperate for an RB to play this week, obviously, you’ll have to go with someone who actually plays. However if you’re set at RB for the moment, stock up on the handcuff RBs for the playoffs. No need to carry five WRs or low-upside bench RBs anymore. And yes, I like Deangelo WilliamsAlfred MorrisDerrick Henry, and Mike Gillislee over Adrian Peterson. I get the intrigue of Peterson if he comes back, but it’s not like he was crushing it before the injury, and the Minnesota offensive line has only gotten worse since the beginning of the season. Also, there’s the chance Peterson just doesn’t come back at all.

Dwayne Washington (Ankle) – Left game and did not return. Suffered through similar injury earlier this season which caused him to miss multiple weeks.

Kapri Bibbs (Ankle) – Exited and did not return against Jacksonville, expected to be fine. UPDATE: Guess it was more serious than they led on. Bibbs has been placed on IR with a high-ankle sprain. The Broncos signed Justin Forsett, who just won’t die, on Monday. Juwan Thompson remains in the backup mix as well.

Doug Martin (“Bent Back”). This is why Jacquizz Rodgers played the end of the game. He is expected to play Week 14. Charles Sims (Knee) – Practiced This week. Eligible to return this week.

Ameer Abdullah (Foot) – Still on IR. Abdullah may return this season.

Chris Ivory (Hamstring) – Sat against the Broncos. No timetable on return.

Adrian Peterson (Knee) – Aiming to come back Week 15 against the Colts. If Vikings fall out of playoff mix, and the team won’t give him contract assurances, we likely won’t see him on the field again this season.
