2019 NFL Combine Betting

The NFL combine will begin to convene in Indianapolis on February 26th, 2019 and you best believe 2019 NFL Combine Betting will be analyzed. More than 300 prospects from the SEC, ACC, Big 12, Big 10, PAC-12 and the other college athletic conferences will descend to do their 2019 NFL Combine athletic testing to help improve their draft stock. Of course, here at RotoExperts, we will be watching with a close eye not only to aid in our NFL Draft and Dynasty Fantasy Football Rankings but to bet on 2019 NFL Combine Prop Bets.

Over/Under For The Fastest 40-Yard Dash

The under is for Fastest 40-Yard Dash time is listed at 4.22 second and comes with a price of +200, or 2/1. The over is set at 4.22 seconds or slower with a price -300.

The juice is fairly significant on the OVER but that is fairly clearly the pick and is a betting selection that I myself have made.

This line seems fairly ridiculous and was perhaps made before the news that Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown would not be participating in the combine came out. The NFL Combine record for fastest 40 time is actually 4.22 and was set by former Washington Huskie, current Cincinnati Bengal wide receiver John Brown at, you guessed it, 4.22 at the 2017 NFL combine.

In the last 15 years of the NFL combine, only seven players even broke the 4.30-second barrier for the 40-Yard Dash. If you are looking to have any action on the 2019 NFL Combine, this is the best bet to make even at -300.

Over/Under For Most Bench Press Reps

The over is set at 40 reps with a price of -120 and the under set at 40 reps with a price of -120.

The price is not great as both sides have decent vig but this is another line that does seem bettable. In the history of the combine, there have been 18 players who have posted at least 40 reps and 16 players who have outright beat the 40 rep mark. Where the 2019 NFL Combine bet prop for the 40-yard dash is actually the combine record, this number is set lower at the books.

In fact, at the 2018 NFL Combine, two players broke this record. Harrison Phillips and Vita Vea both posted more than 40 Bench Press Reps. While it is hard to make super accurate predictions about just how strong college prospects are, the basic math suggests that because this record has been broken so frequently (and as recently as last season), that betting the OVER on 40 Bench Press Reps is the correct 2019 NFL Combine Betting strategy.

Over/Under For Highest Vertical Jump

The over is listed at 43.5 inches with a price of -120 and an under of 43.5 inches with a price of -120.

There is not a ton of conclusive data on this one either way. There are nine recorded examples at the NFL Combine of players recording higher jumps than 43.5 but only three since 2010 including Byron Jones who might be the actual best athlete currently in the NFL. The record is held by ironically, another Dallas Cowboys defensive back, Gerald Sensabaugh with a 46-inch vertical.

While this bet does not have a clear number, I am likely leaning to bet the UNDER at -120. Consider that Saquon Barkley, one of the most freakish athletes in the NFL only recorded a 41-inch Vertical Jump and you’ll be able to conceive of how hard it is to beat 43.5-inches. The fact that 43.5 is a push and not an UNDER is not great but I feel more comfortable with my money going against a true feat of athleticism.

Over/Under For Longest Broad Jump

The over is listed at 12 feet 3 inches with a price of +250 and the under is listed at 12 feet 3 inches or under with a price of -400.

The fact that this line is set at 12 feet, 3 inches really makes it one of the easiest bets if you are actually wanting to get money down on the combine. The NFL Combine record is actually 12 feet 3 inches and before that, the longest Broad Jump for NFL Combine Betting purposes was 11-foot-9 from Obi Melifonwu. When it comes to 2019 NFL Combine betting, it is hard to imagine a softer line.

Studly Byron Jones broke the record by SIX inches! This line could be -800 or -900 and it would still be a viable bet on the under. In fact, I feel confident enough in the UNDER on the Longest Broad Jump and the UNDER on 40-Yard Dash that I have parlayed them into one bet.
