Redskins’ Samaje Perine and Vikings’ Case Keenum Atop Week 11 Waiver Wire

Inside Injuries November 14, 2017 4:27PM EDT

Case Keenum QB, MINN

Keenum was supposed to just be a stopgap solution for the Vikings while they waited for either Sam Bradford or Teddy Bridgewater to be healthy enough to play. The big news going into Sunday’s game in Washington was that Bridgewater was active for the first time since suffering a career-threatening knee injury before the 2016 season. With all of that going on, all Keenum did was go out and throw four touchdowns against a Washington defense that has been pretty good against the pass this season. With the Vikings rolling at 7-2, it seems highly unlikely that they would go to Bridgewater, who still is a massive question mark at this point, without Keenum faltering. The Vikings have a solid core of playmakers including receivers Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen and tight end Kyle Rudolph. Keenum is at least a solid streaming option this week and could hold greater value moving forward.

Williams makes this list not because of his performance so far this season, but because of the injury issues ahead of him on the Packers’ depth chart. Ty Montgomery continues to struggle with rib issues and Aaron Jones is expected to be out 3-6 weeks with an injured MCL. Montgomery could play Week 11, but it seems like a stretch, as he is an Elevated Injury Risk with a Below Average Health Performance Factor according to Inside Injuries. At the very least he will be limited, meaning there will be plenty of opportunity for Williams. The rookie out of BYU has been underwhelming this season, but the potential workload in a Packers offense that has to run the ball without Aaron Rodgers is enough to make him a Fantasy asset.

Samaje Perine RB, WAS

Perine has been a hot waiver pickup in weeks past, but he has fallen flat every time. Now, starter Rob Kelley is expected to be out for multiple weeks with ankle and knee injuries. With Washington having cut Mack Brown, the rookie Perine is really their only early down option. Perine actually had his most impressive game of the season on Sunday against a tough Vikings defense, posting 60 yards on 10 touches. Chris Thompson will likely get more touches and is surely a better Fantasy play, but it’s still possible that Perine could be in for a breakout, even if it is later in the season than some had expected.

Marquise Goodwin WR, SF

Goodwin had just one catch this past Sunday, but it went for an 83-yard touchdown. With Pierre Garcon on IR, Goodwin becomes the top receiver in an offense that should see a boost in quarterback play with Jimmy Garoppolo expected to make his 49ers debut in Week 12 after the Niners’ bye week. Goodwin should see enough targets, combined with his speed, over the back half of the season to make him a decent option in deeper leagues.

Maurice Harris WR, WAS

This is an extremely deep cut, but Harris, in his first game on the active roster for Washington this season, had two catches for 50 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown came on an unbelievable one-handed catch on the Redskins’ first drive, showing why many in the organization have said he has the best hands on the roster. Harris was expected to make the Washington roster out of training camp, but he was relegated to the practice squad due to some injury issues in the preseason. Harris was moved up to the active roster because veteran Brian Quick was out with a concussion, and he should keep his spot there moving forward. With Terrelle Pryor being a dud in D.C. and Josh Doctson still struggling to find consistency, it’s possible that Harris carves out a role in this offense. He should only be an option in the deepest of leagues, but he’s at least worth keeping an eye on.

Dion Lewis NE – SELL HIGH

Lewis posted two touchdowns on Sunday night in the Patriots’ smackdown of the Broncos in Denver, including one on a kickoff return. He also had double-digit carries in each of the last four games, establishing himself as the early down back for the Patriots. The question is, however, whether or not things will stay that way. Rex Burkhead led the Pats’ backfield in snaps and had just one less touch than Lewis. Burkhead has been featured more in the passing game in recent weeks, an area that Lewis has not been used in nearly as much as in the past, as he has just 10 catches on the season. With Burkhead fully back in the mix in New England after missing multiple weeks with a rib injury (He is back at a Low Injury Risk according to Inside Injuries), things are even murkier in the New England backfield than normal, which means it might be time to flip Lewis for a more stable asset.

Marqise Lee JAX – SELL HIGH

Lee has settled in as the top receiving option in Jacksonville rather nicely this season. The Jags are not an explosive passing offense, but he has posted at least four catches and 70 yards and/or a touchdown each of the last four weeks. What will be interesting to see is whether or not the return of rookie Dede Westbrook will cause any disruption to Lee’s workload. Westbrook has been out since the preseason after undergoing core muscle surgery. Westbrook was an explosive play-maker at Oklahoma and could help bring an added element of that to a Jags offense that could use it. He should also be fully healthy and fresh, as he is a Low Injury Risk according to Inside Injuries. With the limited opportunities in Jacksonville for wideouts, it could be bad news for Lee if Westbrook comes in and makes an immediate impact. Selling high on a receiver with limited upside like Lee is a solid move.
