Zach Ertz – TE PHI – Start
After missing Week 9 and then a Week 10 bye, Ertz is on track to return this Sunday. Ertz hurt his hamstring during practice, and after testing it out during pre-game warmups, he didn’t feel right. He has now had almost three weeks to recover, approaching the Optimal Recovery Time. He does remain an Elevated Injury Risk due to the recurrent nature of hamstring strains, but his Health Performance Factor is Above Average. If he is active, plug him into Fantasy lineups.
Philip Rivers – QB LAC – Cautious Start
Philip Rivers was limited in Wednesday’s practice as he recovers from a concussion. He is progressing through protocol but still has not officially passed. It is really hard to tell with concussions whether he will be good to go in time, but the risk certainly remains that he won’t play this week. Even if he does pass protocol, it’s not like he has an easy game in front of him. He would be going against a tough Bills passing defense that ranks sixth in QBR allowed, meaning he was probably in for a mediocre game even without an injury. Most backups would be a better start than Rivers this week, even if you have to pick someone like Blake Bortles or Jay Cutler up.
Leonard Fournette – RB JAX – Cautious Start
Fournette has been dealing with an ankle injury for the last two weeks, but he was able to fully practice last week and make an appearance in the game on Sunday. But he was limited in practice on Wednesday, meaning that he may have re-injured his ankle during the game. It may also mean they are just being conservative with him so that he can be 100 percent this weekend. Regardless, he is still in line to play this week, and owners should plan on him doing so. Just keep an eye on him, and if he isn’t a full participant by the end of the week, then you could start to be concerned.
Devonta Freeman, RB ATL – Sit
Devonta Freeman is also under concussion protocol this week after sustaining the head injury on Sunday. He is doubtful at this point, especially considering he hasn’t practiced as of Thursday. All Fantasy owners should bench Freeman this week, and he might not even be available in Week 12. Freeman suffered a concussion during the preseason and had one in 2015, so his history is concerning. Tevin Coleman should be a great option if you are in one of the few leagues that has him available, or if you happen to have him on your team as well.
Dez Bryant, WR DAL – Cautious Start
Bryant is dealing with a knee injury that has been bothering him for weeks. He hasn’t been missing time, but it is seemingly lowering his effective ceiling. Last week, Bryant had just three catches for 39 yards. He is a full participant in practice on Thursday, which is a good sign, but odds are he will not be 100 percent. He will probably be in the realm of a WR2, or a solid flex option. Owners who are deep at WR might consider benching him, but he will still probably be a play for most teams.
