NFL Draft Prospect Profile: JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Stanford University

JJ Arcega-Whiteside Prospect Profile Wide receivers who accumulate a majority of their production in their final season of college are generally to be questioned. The evaluation of wide receiver prospects is full of riddles and Arcega-Whiteside has several of them. Through three college seasons, JJ Arcega-Whiteside had 72 receptions, including a true freshmen season where…

Tony Finau a Top DFS Pick for the Greenbrier Classic

Tony Finau a Top DFS Pick for the Greenbrier Classic
Matt Rumack July 2, 2018 11:54AM EST

Our Favored DFS Picks for the Greenbrier Classic

DailyRoto
Course: Old White TPC (White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia)

Yardage: 7,286 – Par 70

Purse : $ 7.3M

Field: 154 Players

*Past Greenbrier Classic Champions

2013 Jonas Blixt
2014 Angel Cabrera
2015 Danny Lee
2016 *Cancelled due to flooding
2017 Xander Schauffele

*Using DraftKings Pricing

Key Stats:

Par 4 Birdie or Better %

Strokes gained: tee-to-green

Strokes gained: approach

Par 3 efficiency 200-225 yards

Strokes gained: putting/One-putt %

Tony Finau ($11,500) Despite having no wins this season, Finau is the most talented player in the field this week. He ranks inside the Top 20 in strokes gained: tee-to-green, and strokes gained: approach. Finau has collected five Top 10 finishes this year including a fifth place finish at the U.S Open. Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson may have wins this year, but Finau provides a higher floor while still having the ability to win if he can sink a few putts. He finished seventh at the Greenbrier last season while shooting all four of his rounds in the 60s.

Ryan Moore ($8,900) Ryan Moore is ranked fourth this week in DailyRoto’s value rankings. In Moore’s last eight tournaments he’s finished inside the Top 30 six times, and inside the Top 20 four times. Moore has been one of the best ball strikers this season, ranking 16th in strokes gained: tee-to-green, and 28th in strokes gained: approach. He’s been rock solid lately, having shot 73 or better in 23 straight competitive rounds dating back to round one of the Masters.

Andrew Putnam ($7,800) He’s been the new kid on the block lately, finding the top of the leaderboard almost every week for the last month. Putnam has recorded three straight Top 30s, including a runner-up finish at the FedEx St. Jude. Over his past 12 rounds he’s recorded four rounds of 64 and none above 72. Putnam’s hot streak has been done entirely on Par 70 courses, so he’s been racking up the birdies without the benefit of having four Par 5s per round.

Johnson Wagner ($7,300) Considering Wagner’s low price tag, he’s the safest pick in this range to make the cut. Wagner has made six of his last seven cuts and 10 of 14 overall. Wagner is a wizard on the greens, ranking eighth in strokes gained: putting, and 28th in one putt percentage. In addition to Wagner’s recent consistent play, this is one of his favorite courses. He has a handful of respectful finishes at the Greenbrier that include Top 30 finishes in 2014 and 2015, and a runner-up finish in 2013.

Brandon Harkins ($7,100) Harkins is a riding a three tournament streak of Top 40 finishes that includes last week at the Quicken Loans National, where he finished T32. Harkins is a jack-of-all trades, gaining in all three strokes categories this week (Tee-to-Green, Approach, Putting). Harkins is a high-floor/low-ceiling pick, but in this field you have to sacrifice something, and as a rookie, his ceiling should continue to get higher as the year goes along.

Chase Seiffert ($7,000) Don’t worry if you’ve never heard of DailyRoto’s seventh best value of the week. Seiffert is not currently on any Tour right now, but gained entry this week after finishing ninth at the Travelers two weeks ago. Seiffert shot a 63 in a Monday qualifier to make the Travelers field, then took full advantage, qualifying for this week’s tournament. Monday qualifiers don’t always fall by the wayside, Patrick Reed first broke out on Tour in 2012 by making multiple tournament cuts in a row after Monday qualifying. Seiffert is a long way from where Reed is now, but he’s proven he has the talent to make the cut in PGA tournaments and hang with the big boys.
