NFL Draft Prospect Profile: JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Stanford University

JJ Arcega-Whiteside Prospect Profile Wide receivers who accumulate a majority of their production in their final season of college are generally to be questioned. The evaluation of wide receiver prospects is full of riddles and Arcega-Whiteside has several of them. Through three college seasons, JJ Arcega-Whiteside had 72 receptions, including a true freshmen season where…

NFL Draft Stats to Know – Running Back Prospects

What NFL Draft Statistics Matter Most for Running Back Prospects? In the first article in this series, I went through some key statistics for wide receiver prospects. The series continues here, as I dive into the running back position. I’ve done a bunch of regression-tree analysis on draft prospects. Using statistical software, we can see…

Andy Isabella NFL Draft Profile If I would have been told that I would have been jumping to write the prospect profile for a 5-10, 190 lb slot wide receiver four years ago, I wouldn’t have believed it. When analytics was really hitting the fantasy football community, one of the first things we learned was…

Stats to Know – Wide Receiver Prospects

What Statistics Matter Most for Wide Receiver Prospects? Now that the Super Bowl is over, all eyes will be turning to what is, in my opinion, the greatest sporting event of the year: the NFL Draft. Lives will be made, careers will be started, and fanbases will either be excited or fearful for their team’s…

Your Best Friend’s Ranks: Frank Stampfl’s Week 2 Lineup Rankings

Frank Stampfl offers his Week 2 Fantasy Football lineup ranks

Frank’s High 5

Adrian Peterson looked like he entered the DeLorean in Week 1, rushing 26 times for 96 yards and a touchdown. Yes, it’s just 3.7 yards per carry, but if he continues to approach or even exceed 20 carries per game, he’s a Top-24 RB. AP also added two receptions for 70 yards, reminding us of the explosiveness he has left in the tank. Washington are -5.5 favorites, so Vegas expects them to be playing with the lead. That bodes well for AP, who faces a Colts defense that just allowed 149 total yards a touchdown to Joe Mixon.

Alfred Morris has a chance to be a sneaky flex in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions. This is purely a matchup play, as the Lions got torched for 177 rushing yards and two touchdowns against Isaiah Crowell and Bilal Powell, plus that with the fact that the Lions struggled against the run last season as well. They allowed 13 rushing touchdowns to running backs in 2017, tied for fourth most in the NFL. Morris had three rushing attempts within the five-yard line in Week 1, tied for most among all running backs. He has a great chance to score in Week 2.

Chris Godwin is in a great position to succeed in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Per Evan Silva of Rotoworld, Godwin has played 40-plus snaps in four games throughout his brief career. In those games, he’s averaged 4.5 receptions, 79.5 receiving yards and scored twice. It appears more and more unlikely that DeSean Jackson will suit up for the Bucs this week due to a concussion and shoulder issues. The Eagles just allowed 14 receptions and 187 yards to Falcons wide receivers in Week 1 (basically Julio Jones).

Believe it or not, Brandon Marshall is ranked inside my Top-36 this week. Due to the Doug Baldwin injury, both he and Tyler Lockett need to step up. In Week 1, Marshall was targeted six times (led the team), hauling in three for 46 yards and a touchdown. Two of those six targets came in the red zone. Not only does Russell Wilson need to replace Baldwin’s targets, but they’re still trying to replace Jimmy Graham’s 26 red zone targets from a year ago. Vegas has the Seahawks at +3.5 against the Bears on Monday night, so they could be chasing points.

Jared Cook has a good chance to prove he’s not BigFoot after all in Week 2. The Broncos just allowed 105 yards and a touchdown to Seahawks tight end Will Dissly in Week 1. Exactly. Who the hell is that!? Regardless, it’s a strong matchup for Cook, who just had a career game, catching nine of 12 targets for a whopping 180 yards. The Broncos have strong cornerbacks on the outside but could be beat by tight ends in the middle of the field. I expect a heavy dose of Cook once again from Jon Gruden in Week 2.
