JJ Arcega-Whiteside Prospect Profile Wide receivers who accumulate a majority of their production in their final season of college are generally to be questioned. Week Six Fantasy Football Matchups to Exploit

It is Week Six of the NFL season, and there are players that should be licking their chops in breakout spots this week. Also, looking at game scripts and shootout potential games, these players should be given more opportunities in Week Six.

 WRs vs CBs

Amari Cooper vs Shaquill Griffin

It has been a roller coaster ride for Amari Cooper this year. In three of five games, he has disappeared with only one or two catches. The other two games he was able to get over 100 yards. I think this game sets up to be another one where Cooper can break out and not go missing. In this matchup, Shaquill Griffin or any other cornerback on the Seahawks employ, can’t really take away Cooper from the offense. There has been some pressure on Jon Gruden in the media to get him more involved as well, so maybe we will see more designed plays for Cooper just to get the ball in his hands. Cooper has 100-plus yard upside again in Week Six.

Mohamed Sanu vs M.J. Stewart

Sanu was productive in a friendly matchup last week, and he steps into another favorable situation this week against the Buccaneers. They have been allowing the second-most Fantasy Points Per Game to opposing wide receivers, and Sanu has been a steady component in the Falcons’ passing attack, with over six targets in each of the last three weeks. M.J. Stewart will draw the coverage against him and he has struggled a lot in his first NFL season. He has allowed nearly a perfect passer rating to QBs who target him, and Sanu can beat him a few times in a shootout atmosphere against the Bucs.

Josh Gordon vs Orlando Scandrick and Steven Nelson

Josh Gordon has been limited in his snaps as a Patriot so far, but this seems like the perfect opportunity to let him free in big game against the Chiefs. He made a big impression last week with a 34-yard touchdown grab, and that alone could lead him to more playing time. Chris Hogan has been struggling to consistently get open and dropped a pass that led to an interception last week. Gordon can eat into Hogan’s and/or Phillip Dorsett’s snaps this week and feast off one of the worst cornerback groups. Steven Nelson has allowed the eighth-most yards in coverage amongst cornerbacks and Gordon is far too athletic for him. Also, Julian Edelman draws the toughest matchup of Kendall Fuller in the slot, which could lead to more targets for Gordon.

Chester Rogers vs Parry Nickerson

Last week showed again that receivers can be very productive in the slot against the Jets. Emmanuel Sanders was able to rack up nine catches for 72 yards. That is not an eye-opening yardage total, but the Jets have funneled a lot of receptions and targets to the slot receivers this year, making Chester Rogers an intriguing option this week. He has seen 22 targets over the last two weeks with Hilton banged up, and came down with 16 catches. The Colts cannot run the ball, meaning we should see a lot of pass attempts from Andrew Luck again. Rogers draws the most favorable matchup against the rookie Nickerson, playing in place of Buster Skrine, and he is a sneaky play in Daily Fantasy at a low price of $4,500 on DraftKings.

JuJu Smith-Schuster vs Darqueze Dennard

Smith-Schuster is a must-play in season-long formats, but this matchup is worth noting because of his huge upside. Antonio Brown has not quite lived up to expectations so far and is naturally drawing a lot more attention in coverage than Smith-Schuster. Also, William Jackson will be covering Brown, and Jackson was able to hold his own against him last year. With Brown potentially limited outside, Smith-Schuster can be granted more targets in a great matchup against Darqueze Dennard, who has allowed the most yards out of any Bengals’ cornerback. This game has some shootout potential as well, with both offenses having success this year, and the Steelers defense is struggling a lot. Smith-Schuster is one of my favorite plays in Daily Fantasy this week as he could post an 8/100/1 line.

RBs vs LBs

 Chris Carson vs OAK

The Raiders defense has been consistently terrible this year, and that shouldn’t change against the Seahawks. They are allowing the fourth-most Fantasy points to opposing running backs, and Carson should be in line for another big workload. The Seahawks have shown over the past few weeks that they are very committed to running the ball, with 31 carries between Carson and Mike Davis last week. In Carson’s last two games he has logged 20 and 34 touches. I expect Carson to see around 20 touches again and be will be very productive with them in a prime matchup.

Sony Michel vs K.C.

Michel has continued to look better and better every time out this year. In his first two games there were some concerns, as he didn’t show the burst that he had in college. He quickly silenced those doubters in the last two games with back-to-back 100 total yard efforts. His Yards Per Carry have gone up in all of his starts, and this is probably his best matchup yet against the Chiefs. They are allowing 5.5 yards per carry to running backs and the Patriots offensive line should bully them. I expect Michel to rack up a lot of yards on the ground and he has the opportunity to punch in two touchdowns in the Pats high-powered offense. Michel is already third in red zone carries among all running backs, after really being a non-factor in the first two games.

Jordan Howard vs MIA

Howard has been very underwhelming running the ball this year, but the Dolphins might be the perfect defense for him to get it going. They have allowed big games to Sony Michel, James White, and Joe Mixon over the past two weeks and Howard is going to be getting a good amount of touches in this game. Howard is not known for his receiving ability, but the Dolphins do allow a lot of receiving work to backs. That will add to his upside, and he could get around three catches in this game. After a slow start this year, Howard could break loose for 80 to 100 yards and a touchdown.

Dalvin Cook vs ARI

Cook has risk to him this week, but this is a game where he can finally break out. The Cardinals are allowing the most Fantasy points to running backs. Offenses have been able to run a huge amount of plays because of all the short drives the Cardinals have been sputtering through. Last week, the 49ers were able to run 92 plays, which is an extremely high mark, and was a franchise record for the 49ers. This will allow to Cook to get around 15 to 20 touches if he is playing without restriction. If they say he is on a pitch count again, Latavius Murray can also have some appeal to him in a game that could easily be a one-sided affair.
