JJ Arcega-Whiteside Prospect Profile Wide receivers who accumulate a majority of their production in their final season of college are generally to be questioned. Early Value RBs to Consider for 2019 Fantasy Football

Early Value RBs to Consider for 2019 Fantasy Football

2019 Fantasy Football: Names to Know for dynasty, keeper, Best Ball and seasonal purposes

As you start to consider roster moves in dynasty leagues, think about your keepers, participate in some early Best Ball drafts or simply start early prep for your next summer draft, here are some RBs that may be undervalued heading into the 2019 Fantasy Football offseason.

Ito Smith: I believe the Falcons drafted him knowing that Tevin Coleman would leave after this past season and that they could not rely on Devonta Freeman to stay healthy or keep playing at a high level. Early in the 2018 season, Smith had TD runs in three consecutive games and four of six. He’s small and won’t be a fully featured RB, but he will be useful at least in a part-time role with the Falcons in 2019 and has some flex appeal and promise.

Gus Edwards: I think a lot of Fantasy owners remain skeptical on him and expect Kenneth Dixon to be the guy for the Ravens. However, Edwards had four 90-yard games and three 100-yard outings between Weeks 12 to 16. He is a strong runner with good burst and acceleration and Dixon put the ball on the ground in some key situations, which John Harbaugh does not have a lot of patience for.

D’Onta Foreman: His 2018 was mostly lost because of a lingering Achilles injury, but the expectation is that Lamar Miller is likely done in Houston. Depending on who the Texans bring in via free agency or the draft, Foreman could at least get an opportunity to compete for quality playing time and finally start living up to his potential.

Nyheim Hines: He was only sporadically involved in his rookie season, but in 2019, he can start to evolve as an ideal complement to Marlon Mack and become more of a consistent receiving option out of the backfield. Hines was drafted with an eye on making him one of the next impact RB receiving threats in the league and his role as a PPR contributor should only grow over time.

Latavius Murray: He can leave Minnesota as a free agent, and if Murray can push for more playing time somewhere else, he could be even more of a respectable Fantasy option. Murray is tall and strong but also has deceptive quickness. If he contends for a starting job elsewhere, he could emerge as a pretty good Fantasy option in 2019 Fantasy Football.

T.J. Yeldon: He may leave Jacksonville in free agency, and could be more frequently utilized elsewhere as a receiving threat. I don’t think he is suited to be a pure featured back but I could see him faring pretty well in a situation where he plays more consistently and develops into more of a PPR contributor.

Mike Davis: So far, he is my favorite sleeper of the offseason. Davis is a free agent and deserves a chance to play more often somewhere else. He runs hard and is versatile, and will come cheaper than some other more heralded RBs in free agency. Davis had a 100-yard game in Week Four, ran for three TDs combined in Weeks Four and Five and totaled 107 yards from scrimmage in Week Nine. He then totaled 80 yards from scrimmage and a TD in Week 10. Davis took advantage of every opportunity with Seattle in 2018 and could be productive in a larger role elsewhere next year.

Kenyan Drake: There is going to be a lot of hype on Kalen Ballage this offseason, but let’s not forget that Drake has flashed a lot of upside himself at times. He was grossly misused by Adam Gase in Miami and Drake can really threaten defenses with his explosive gears and pass-catching abilities when he gets the opportunities. A new regime might be able to get more out of him next season even if he works in a shared role. He is certainly talented enough to play more than he did in 2018, too.
