Russell Wilson and Markus Wheaton Climbing in Fantasy Football Rankings

Whenever I make extensive or prominent changes to my Fantasy Football rankings during the preseason, I’ll share insights on why I have made the alterations. Here are some highlighted changes to my PPR skill position rankings after Week Two of preseason games. Please also note my standard Fantasy Football ranks have been published right here.

Russell Wilson moved into Tier 4 at No. 12 ahead of Tom Brady and Cam Newton. It’s clear from watching the Seahawks this preseason that they have more speed in the passing game, and whenever Percy Harvin is in there, Seattle can make more big plays when they do choose to throw the ball. They will still run a lot, but they can challenge defenses some more with the pass this year when Harvin is available. Eli Manning fell to 25 in Tier 8. The Giants offense looks like that of a team that made the jump from the CFL to the NFL. Blake Bortles jumped to 38 from 27. It’s very apparent that he is the best quarterback on his team and he deserves to start already. He could be quite a surprise as a rookie and he may not be done ascending.
