Bears Mitchell Trubisky, Bengals John Ross Headline Week 16 Strong Streamers

Strong Fantasy streamers for Week 16

Your Fantasy Football Super Bowl is likely this week. Do you have the guts to put one of these players in your lineup? I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a conservative owner; I rarely take chances with my Fantasy team unless a chance is what I truly think I need to take. Maybe you had Cam Newton and no backup on your roster. Well, then you have to go with one of these quarterbacks. As much as Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady have disappointed this season, I don’t know if I’d have the guts to sit them this week. Maybe you do. Good luck in your finals and Happy Holidays.

Quarterback

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys: The matchup tells us that this should be a good game for Prescott. He is just so hard to trust, however. The Buccaneers’ secondary has played poorly all season long, and there is little reason to believe Sunday will be any different. However, the Cowboys may just stick with their game plan here, and that’s to run the ball with Ezekiel Elliott and play good defense.

Josh Allen Buffalo Bills: Allen is an extremely athletic QB and one that has a solid floor Fantasy wise. We know he can run—that’s his high floor. The question is, can he get enough in the passing game to make him a worthy Fantasy starter? Well, that’s the gamble now isn’t it? The Patriots may decide in this game that the best way to win is to keep Allen in the pocket, make him throw the ball at all costs and not let him run around to try and make a play with his legs.

Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns: Mayfield seems to always make this list. He has another good matchup in Week 16 against the Bengals’ secondary. Antonio Callaway is their big-play receiver and Mayfield will take his shots to hit him. The problem with Mayfield is that he doesn’t always hit his receivers.

Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles: It didn’t take Foles long to look good in that Eagles’ offense, now did it? He has another good matchup Sunday against a Texans secondary that has been the biggest weakness on this defense. Foles also seemed to wake up Alshon Jeffery, who had his biggest game of the season last week. They may not quite have that magic this week but may not be that far off, either.

Mitchell Trubisky, Chicago Bears: Trubisky, at this point in his career, is a better Josh Allen. He runs just as well but has legitimate weapons to throw the ball to. Players like Allen Robinson and Tarik Cohen make Trubisky an intriguing start this week against a 49ers secondary that has been average at best this season. We know he has the running ability; if Trubisky can hit on a TD pass or two, he could be in for a big game.

Running Back

Zach Zenner, Detroit Lions: The Lions seem to have lost faith in LeGarrette Blount and placed Kerryon Johnson on IR earlier this week, ending his season. That leaves the starting role in the hands of Zach Zenner. Now, this is far from a great matchup versus the Vikings, but if you’re reading this, then you have to be desperate and Zenner might be able to get you double digit points this week.

Kalen Ballage, Miami Dolphins: Frank Gore was placed on IR this week, as well, and although Kenyan Drake would seem to be the obvious choice to replace him at starting RB, the Dolphins seem hesitant to do so. Drake will handle the pass-catching role while Ballage looks to be the leading ball carrier in this contest.

Jamaal Williams, Green Bay Packers: Williams was likely the most expensive player added this week in FAAB. Aaron Jones is done for the season and we all know that defenses worry about Aaron Rodgers and the pass game and not so much the run game. Williams will be the lead ball carrier Sunday and has a good matchup against the Jets. Hopefully the Packers will only give him the ball at the goal line.

Elijah McGuire, New York Jets: McGuire also has a good matchup here and little in the way of competition. The Packers don’t have much of a defense and the Jets aren’t going to let Sam Darnold throw the ball all over the field. McGuire is a low-end RB2.

Wide Receiver

Mike Williams, Los Angeles Chargers: This will depend upon the health of Keenan Allen. If Allen plays, then Williams will lose some targets, and that would be a shame after his big game versus the Chiefs last week. The other problem is that the Chargers are playing what might be the best defense in the NFL in the Ravens. Williams’ performance of late should make the Chargers try to get him more involved in the offense.

John Ross, Cincinnati Bengals: There just isn’t much left in the Bengals’ pass game. A.J. Green is out for the season due to injury and Tyler Boyd is headed that way. That really leaves only Ross as a viable option in the pass game. Ross could be in for a sneaky good game here against a shaky Browns secondary.

Robert Foster, Buffalo Bills: Foster was another popular add this week through FAAB. He’s had back-to-back weeks with 100-plus yards receiving; who is to say he can’t do it again this week? The Bills should have success through the air Sunday, and Foster is the hot hand right now.

Robby Anderson, New York Jets: Anderson has had a disappointing season but seems to be getting back on track now that Darnold has returned as the starting QB. The Packers’ secondary is suspect to begin with, and Darnold is certainly not afraid to take his shots. This game should have points scored on both sides.

David Moore, Seattle Seahawks: This is all about the opposition. The Seahawks are playing the Chiefs, and although they like to play ball control with the ground game, they will have to put the rock in the air in this game. If Doug Baldwin is hampered or can’t go in this game, that will only raise the value of Moore.

Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos: I could’ve easily put DaeSean Hamilton or Tim Patrick on this list as well, maybe even all three. Listen, they are playing the Raiders. We’re not talking about the greatest of defenses here. Sutton should see his share of the targets and could even get into the end zone here.

Tight End

C.J. Uzomah, Cincinnati Bengals: Uzomah has been very quiet over the past few weeks, but as mentioned above with Ross, there just isn’t much left for Jeff Driskell to throw to. Uzomah won’t break the bank, but double-digit points are not out of the question, as is possibly his first score since Week Seven.

Vernon Davis, Washington: Davis had a less-than-inspiring performance last week against the Jaguars, and I’ll be the first to admit that this week against the Titans doesn’t look to be all that much better. But Josh Johnson has to throw to someone.

Gerald Everett, Los Angeles Rams: The Rams will look to fix what ails their offense this week. I would expect quite a few passes to Everett to ease Jared Goff into a nice rhythm. When a QB needs to throw the ball for a completion, it’s usually the nice big target close to the line of scrimmage that gets the call, and that receiver is usually a TE.

Defense/Special Teams

Tennessee Titans: It’s hard not to pick against Washington. They are down to their fourth-string QB (who somehow won a game last week). They don’t have a receiver worth anything on the roster. Their starting RB is finally starting to show his age. The Titans are a very good defense; they shouldn’t have much of a problem stopping Washington.

Indianapolis Colts: The Cowboys may have been due for a let-down last week, but that was still an impressive performance put up by the Colts’ defense. This week, they get a statue in the pocket with Eli Manning, and he may not have Odell Beckham to throw to once again. Throw in a suspect OL, playing at home and a playoff spot possibly on the line, and you have a defense you can start.
