In this installment of Executive Decisions, Fantasy Football analyst Corey Parson (U already know) discusses whether you should pick Coby Fleener or Jack Doyle on draft day. Fleener is entering his second season in the Saints high-powered offense. Fleener did not live up to Fantasy Football or NFL expectations in 2016. Owners of the Saints’ Fleener considered him a bust. Tight ends in the Saints’ offense normally flourish. In this video, I discuss whether Fleener could be a post-hype sleeper in 2017. You like that baseball reference don’t you?
Jack Doyle was quite the opposite of Fleener in 2016. Doyle snuck onto the scene while everyone was expecting a breakout from then Colts tight end Dwayne Allen. The Western Kentucky product scored five touchdowns and racked up 59 receptions. Doyle was one of the best Fantasy Football waiver wire pickups of 2016. In NFFC drafts, Doyle is going off the board as Tight End 12. If you are in on Jack Doyle for the upcoming season be careful not to overdraft him. The Colts employ two tight ends in the passing game. Former Miami Hurricane basketball player Erik Swoope will be involved in this offense in 2017. Swoope, a third-year tight end, was only on the field for 244 snaps last season and that number will surely go up this season. Swoope is a player to target later in drafts.
