Kenny Golladay 2019 NFL Best Ball Draft Value Analysis
In 2018, Kenny Golladay ranked 17th amongst skill position players in terms of yards per reception (15.2) and 14th amongst wide receivers specifically. Other players who finished in a similar range were volatile talents like John Brown (16.6), Tyrell Williams (15.8), Will Fuller V (15.7), Marquez Valdes-Scantling (15.3) and Tre’quan Smith (15.1). In theory, those who are heavily-reliant on long receptions are perfect fits for the best ball format, since fantasy owners will not need to guess which weeks will be their bust-out weeks.
When all said and done, Golladay finished the 2018 season as one of just six receivers to average at least 15 yards per reception (YPC) and eclipse the 1,000-yard mark along with Brandin Cooks, T.Y. Hilton, George Kittle, Tyreek Hill, and Mike Evans. Of that group, only Cooks saw fewer targets (117) than Golladay, which is somewhat unsurprising considering the Lions averaged fewer pass plays per game than any of these players’ teams other than the 49ers.
