Matchups for Falcons Mohamed Sanu, Bengals C.J. Uzomah Make Them Sneaky Plays

Matchups for Falcons Mohamed Sanu, Bengals C.J. Uzomah Make Them Sneaky Plays
Brandon Murchison October 10, 2018 10:15AM EDT

Sneaky plays for Week Six

QB

Jameis Winston @ Atlanta Falcons

Coming off of the bye week, it’s the Jameis Winston show once again for the Buccaneers offense. He gets one of the best possible defensive matchups, as the Bucs are heading into Atlanta to face a Falcons defense that is one of the league’s worst in points allowed to the position (24.44 Fantasy PPG). In fact, this defense has allowed three touchdown passes in each of the past four weeks. After shaking off the rust during the bye week, expect for Winston and this passing attack to be on full display in Week Six. To keep up with the red-hot Falcons’ offense, the Bucs are likely be throwing a lot in this game, meaning more opportunities for Winston to score. I expect to see him go for around 290 yards and at least two scores in this game, making him an adequate streaming option if you are a Matt Stafford or Drew Brees owner this week. In DFS, Winston may be an option that many pivot to as a cheap play as they build up their roster elsewhere.

RB

Tarik Cohen @ Miami Dolphins

Cohen is a player that many were thinking would be the next Alvin Kamara, or at least James White, heading into the 2018 season. The hype was there and the coaches were talking up special packages for him, thus increasing his draft stock. But after the first three games, he had just seven catches for 48 yards. Then, in Week Four, he exploded for seven catches, 121 yards and a score. Now, after the bye week, Cohen gets matched up against a Dolphins defense that can be had by a pass-catching back. In fact, in each game aside from Week Five, the Dolphins have allowed a minimum of five catches to the opposing team’s pass-catching back. Look for that continue in this game, as I see Cohen hauling in six catches for 85 yards and a possible score. He will be in consideration as a Flex play this week. In DFS, he’s the ultimate boom or bust play. He’s likely an option that not many people will be on and if he hits, you’ll be looking at cashing in.

WR

Mohamed Sanu vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Oddly enough, Sanu is starting to pick up his play as Calvin Ridley is also playing well. His past two games have been his best of the season and in Week Six he will be drawing one of the league’s worst defense in points allowed to opposing receivers (32.48 Fantasy PPG). Slot receivers have either scored or gone for 100 yards or more against this defense in every game this season, which bodes well for Sanu. He has been lining up as a slot receiver more this season than he has in previous years. In a game that could likely be a back-and-forth affair, Sanu could be that sneaky play as a WR3 that could help you win your week. Look for him to bring in five catches for 90 yards and a score in this game. As a DFS option, he should be overlooked and a very intriguing cheap play.

TE

C.J. Uzomah vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Call this one a hunch, but this could be one of those deep dive plays that could be gold for you as you search for a streaming option at tight end for Week Six. With Tyler Eifert out for the Bengals, C.J. Uzomah will look to benefit in a matchup against one of the league’s worst units against opposing tight ends (12.08 Fantasy PPG). Aside from Week One, this Steelers defense has given up at least five catches or a score to tight ends in each of the past four games. That should continue in this game as both teams will be looking to pile up the points. Uzomah should give you five catches for 65 yards and a potential score in this game, making him a solid option to grab off the waiver wire and play in your seasonal lineups. In DFS, he will be a cheap play that should be a low-owned option.

DEF

Oakland Raiders vs. Seattle Seahawks

The Raiders’ defense may not be one to write home about, but it may be able to take advantage of its matchup this week. The Seahawks’ offense is inconsistent, to say the least, and with the offensive line problems that they have, the Raiders could give you a few points in this one. It’s a battle of an offense that allows defenses to score Fantasy points against a defense that hasn’t scored well at all. Which one gives? If you’re in dire need of a streaming option this week, the Raiders may not blow you away, but they may not kill you either.
