Fantasy owners, exhale. Over the past few weeks we ventured into that deep, dark place known as bye week hell. Many seasons were lost along the way, as owners fought hard but simply could not overcome the cold wrath of weeks when there were six teams off. However, if you are reading this, chances are you took on bye week hell and lived to tell the tale. The good news? No team is on bye in Week 12! However, the Browns and Titans will have their bye in Week 13. Despite this unprecedented scheduling quirk, Fantasy owners should have most of their players available going forward. That means you should begin shaping your roster for the stretch run, if you haven’t already done so.
Unfortunately, it is not all good news in the world of Fantasy Football. During the Week 11 games there were several vital injuries that could determine the rest of the season. A.J. Green tore a hamstring muscle, which will undoubtedly end his season. Numerous running backs were among the injured this week, including LeSean McCoy, C.J. Prosise, Gio Bernard and Ryan Mathews. Not only does this create opportunity on the waiver wire, but it further emphasizes the need for owners to handcuff key players whenever possible. More on that later, though.
One last note. While I typically recommend how much of your FAAB to spend, you know your league better than I do. If you need to spend most, or even all of your FAAB to acquire a must-own player, do whatever is necessary to make it happen.
