Five Legitimate Fantasy Football Sleepers At Running Back

Five Running Back Fantasy Football Sleepers Finding late round running back fantasy football sleepers is the surest way to attain a league-winning roster. 2019 Quarterback & Tight End Fantasy Football Tiers Rankings Maybe more than at any other position, fantasy football tiers rankings are important for quarterbacks and tight ends. Woo and Boo: Your Starts and Sits for Week Five

Woo

QB

Alex Smith @ New Orleans Saints

Although Alex Smith has yet to throw for over 300 yards in a game this season, he has thrown for at least two touchdowns in two of his three starts. Heading in New Orleans after the bye week, Smith’s matchup is against a Saints defense giving up 27.90 FFPPG to opposing quarterbacks is ripe for the picking. With the Redskins expected to be playing from behind in this game, look for Smith to get over the 300-yard mark and add in at least two touchdowns. He is a streaming option at the position in Week Five.

Andy Dalton vs. Miami Dolphins

Dalton and the red-hot Bengals offense will look to crack a tough Dolphins secondary in Week Five. Even with the Dolphins allowing just 12.51 FFPPG to quarterbacks, Dalton and this passing attack is playing too well to not take advantage. Coming off of back-to-back 300-yard games, I can see Dalton providing another low-end QB1 type of performance on Sunday.

RB

T.J. Yeldon @ Kansas City Chiefs

With Leonard Fournette again out of this Jaguars lineup, Yeldon will look to take advantage of a great matchup against a Chiefs defense ranked 31st in Fantasy points allowed to running backs (30.15 PPG). The Jaguars will be looking to ride sound defense and a running game to keep Patrick Mahomes off the field. That means plenty of opportunities for Yeldon. I expect for him to once again find the end-zone in Week Five while adding in 85 yards on the ground. Those are numbers that you can use in your RB2 spot if you are lucky enough to roster Yeldon.

Matt Breida vs. Arizona Cardinals

On the subject of great matchups, that is exactly what Breida has against a Cardinals defense currently last in Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs (31.78 FFPPG). Keep an eye on injury reports until game-time, but he is expected to play and perform well. He has been slightly quiet over the last two weeks, but look for that to change in Week Five. A 130 total-yard day is within reach as well as a trip into the end-zone. Matt Breida should fit in nicely as a Flex play for the week.

WR

Corey Davis @ Buffalo Bills

Coming off a big 15-target, nine catch game, Davis now looks to take advantage of a matchup on the road against the Bills. Although his matchup against Tre’Davious White could be troublesome, the amount of opportunities he should see will make up for it. Look for a six-catch, 105-yard game from Davis with a score as well. That makes him a viable option as a WR2 in Week Five.

Mike Williams vs. Oakland Raiders

Mike Williams had a very quiet game in Week Four with only one catch against the 49ers. That will surely change in a matchup against a Raiders secondary that is currently allowing 30.25 FFPPG to opposing receivers. With this game potentially a high-scoring affair, look for Williams to have a major role in the offense this week. Expect Williams to bring in five catches for 90 yards and a score in this game, making him a low-end WR3/Flex play in your lineup.

TE

Austin Hooper @ Pittsburgh Steelers

Another player that disappointed a week ago, Hooper will look to rebound in a potential shootout in Pittsburgh. The Steelers currently are ranked 31st in Fantasy points allowed to the position (12.98 FFPPG), making Hooper a strong option as a streaming player in Week Five. With much of the coverage focused on Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley, Matt Ryan should look his way quite often. If he is still available and if you’re in need of help, grab Hooper and plug him in.

DEF

San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals

Josh Rosen’s first road start could prove to be fruitful for the 49ers defense in Fantasy. The matchup against a Cardinals offense that doesn’t score bodes well for the Niners. Look for a good number of sacks and a couple of turnovers.

Boo

QB

Carson Wentz vs. Minnesota Vikings

Wentz looked better in his second start back from injury, but I am still cautious in starting him in a tough matchup against the Vikings. The defense can get after the quarterback, which could put Wentz in a position to make rash decisions with the ball. He may still be start-worthy depending on your situation at the position, but I would not expect a repeat of his 348-yard, two touchdown game from a week ago.

Russell Wilson vs. Los Angeles Rams

Wilson has been a bust so far to start the year, putting it mildly. He has no 300-yard games and his scoring has regressed in each week. That trend may again continue in a matchup against the tough Rams defense. The only positive is that the team will be behind in this game, but it also means potential for turnovers. There is likely a player on waivers that you can grab (Alex Smith) with a better matchup for Week Five.

RB

Kenyan Drake @ Cincinnati Bengals

I’m not sure that Adam Gase knows what he wants to do with Drake in this backfield. He is getting out-touched by Frank Gore (19-11 the last two games) and that trend is cause for concern. Until you see more consistent usage from Drake, it’s hard to trust him as a starter for your Fantasy team. His 3.2 yards per carry will continue to keep him on the sideline and that will not likely improve in this road matchup against a tough Bengals front.

WR

Michael Crabtree @ Cleveland Browns

Without a touchdown since Week One and coming off a poor three catch effort a week ago, Crabtree now finds himself in a tough matchup against Denzel Ward/E.J. Gaines in Cleveland. Crabtree will likely not find much separation in this game, limiting his opportunities. Coupled with how hot John Brown has been, it seems as though Crabtree is taking a back seat.

Sammy Watkins vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Even with Watkins getting in some practice time this week, the hamstring injury will be bothersome if he plays in Week Five. If active, Watkins may not see much of the field during the game, which should make your decision easy by placing him on the bench this week. There are too many mouths to feed for the Chiefs to make Watkins worth a start in Fantasy.

TE

David Njoku vs. Baltimore Ravens

Njoku is coming off his best game of the season, a five catch, 52-yard performance in Week Four. It’s hard to imagine he repeats that against a Ravens defense only giving up 5.03 FFPPG to opposing tight ends. Look elsewhere for a potential streaming option in Week Five.
