Start Cowboys Dak Prescott, Bills Robert Foster in Week 16

Woo and Boo – Starts and Sits for Week 16

Woo – Start ‘Em

QB

Dak Prescott vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Coming off an embarrassing performance in Indianapolis last week, Prescott will get the benefit of a home matchup against the Buccaneers defense in Week 16. The Buccaneers defense is one of the worst in the league in points allowed to opposing quarterbacks and I expect Prescott to have a great day. Until last week, Prescott had been performing up to QB1 status since the Amari Cooper trade, so look for a bounce-back game here. Another QB1 game is in store to the tune of 275 yards through the air along with three touchdowns. He will be very start-worthy in your championship lineups.

Nick Foles vs. Houston Texans

With Nick Foles back under center, questions remain about the consistency of this offense. Will we see the Super Bowl MVP version of Foles or the one that started out the 2018 season? Last week, he performed well on the road against the Rams albeit without any scores. In Week 16, Foles and the Eagles return home to play a Texans defense that is third worst in QB points allowed over the last four weeks (20.50 Fantasy PPG). There is too much talent on this offense to hold back, so expect to see an above-average game from Foles. He should be a fringe QB1 this week, making him start-worthy for owners in need of a quarterback this week.

RB

Jamaal Williams @ New York Jets

With the injury to Aaron Jones, Williams now resumes control of the backfield for the Packers. Although the matchup on the road against the Jets could be a tough hill to climb, the volume he should receive is enticing. Although Aaron Rodgers has said that he will play, the coaching staff could make the call to shut him down. If he plays, it only helps Williams and his potential. He could be a waiver wire wonder in Week 16 that should be plugged into your Flex spot.

Elijah McGuire vs. Green Bay Packers

Another late-season waiver wire pickup, McGuire is in line for a big day against a Packers defense that has been mediocre against opposing running backs lately. He had at least 20 touches in each of the last two games and that trend will continue in Week 16. I’m looking for a strong effort in this game as he pushes for a 100-yard rushing day while adding in his third score in three weeks. Plug McGuire into your lineup as an RB2 in your march towards a championship.

WR

Robby Anderson vs. Green Bay Packers

Staying with another hot Jets offensive player, Robby Anderson could be in line for another good week. He has been over 75 yards in each of the last two weeks, with touchdowns in both as well. Facing a Packers defense that is a bottom third unit in points allowed to WRs over the last month, Anderson has appeal as a low-end WR3 in Week 16. I expect him to register around 85 yards and another score this week.

Robert Foster @ New England Patriots

With back-to-back 100-yard games under his belt, Foster has assumed the role as the lead receiver for the Bills. Looking to Week 16, Foster gets to face a Patriots defense that has been a middle-of-the-road team against opposing receivers over the last month. It seems Josh Allen and Foster have found a connection and with the running game for the Bills being non-existent, the targets should be there this week. The Bills should be playing from behind in this game, leading to multiple opportunities for Foster to score. Play him this week as a WR3/Flex type of option in standard leagues for sure, while in PPR formats he offers little upside in the catch department.

TE

Gerald Everett @ Arizona Cardinals

Everett has brought in nine catches over the last two games as the Rams have been surprisingly incorporating the tight end into the passing game. With the Todd Gurley coming into the game somewhat hobbled, I expect to see more of the offense go through Jared Goff and the passing game this week. With the consistency Everett has shown over the last two weeks, coupled with the poor options at the position in Fantasy, streaming him in Week 16 is definitely an option.

DEF

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Houston Texans

The Eagles defense is coming off a strong performance against the Rams a week ago, and now they face a Texans offense that has been struggling of late. Look for another good performance out of this team again in Week 16 with a quality number of sacks. This defense is likely available off your waiver wire. Pick them up and plug them in.

Boo – Sit ‘Em

QB

Aaron Rodgers @ New York Jets

Very similar to Cam Newton, you can tell that Rodgers just isn’t healthy and some rest could do him good. He has no 300-yard games in over a month and multiple scores in just one game in that same time frame. Not to mention that the road game against a tough Jets secondary is reason enough to bench him. I know it’s tough to bench Rodgers if you have made it this far, but you have to make the smart call when a championship is on the line.

Philip Rivers vs. Baltimore Ravens

Rivers has been a steady producer over the course of the 2018 season, but the matchup against the Ravens will be a difficult one. This defense has allowed just one QB1 finish since Week 12 and they continue to get better as the weeks go by. I do expect Rivers to have a decent game, but not to the level of what you might expect from your starter. If you have other options to plug in this week, I would entertain using those during title week.

RB

Jordan Howard @ San Francisco 49ers

Howard has seen a resurgence over the last three weeks, but I believe that comes to an end in Week 16 against a sturdy 49ers defense. Aside from Chris Carson last week, this run defense had not allowed a 100-yard rusher since Week Four. I’m expecting the Bears to struggle on offense as a whole this week, putting Howard as a risk. With plenty of options appearing on waivers over the last two weeks, you could have choices to play over Howard.

Kenyan Drake vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Frank Gore gets injured and put on injured reserve, that means more touches for Kenyan Drake right? Wrong. There were four touches total for Drake in last week’s game as Kalen Ballage came out of nowhere to lead the Dolphins backfield. With even more question marks now surrounding Drake and the Dolphins run game, it’s hard to hope for upside against the Jaguars.

WR

Courtland Sutton @ Oakland Raiders

Sutton has been an absolute disappointment since his role was expected to increase in the Broncos receiver rotation. His five catches last week were a season high and I don’t expect to see him match that this week in Oakland. In fact, this Broncos offense tends to play poorly in road games during the 2018 season.

Golden Tate vs. Houston Texans

Another disappointment has been the usage of Golden Tate since his trade to the Eagles. He’s eclipsed 48 yards just once in his six games for Philly and it’s apparent that the team has no clue how to incorporate him. I expect for the Eagles to play very well this week at home, but I believe the ball will be spread around too much to warrant a start for Tate in Week 16.

TE

Cameron Brate @ Dallas Cowboys

Since O.J. Howard went down with his season-ending injury, many expected Brate to take over and return to his former TE1 value. In the previous four weeks, his high yardage total has been only 36 yards. The only saving grace has been scoring potential. That is something that I do not see out of him against the Cowboys in Week 16. Run to your waiver wire and see what other options may be remaining out there.
