Week Nine Fantasy Football Workshop: Rest Of Season Updates, Trade Targets And Adjustments

Every week, after the Monday Night Football game commences, fantasy football players get down to the important work: updating rankings, making Waiver Wire bids, altering projections and figuring out injury news. We are now seven weeks into the NFL season. Like many of you, I have some teams I am incredibly proud of (including a first-place FFPC Main Event team) and some teams that I wish I could just wave the white flag on.

If you are playing in a redraft league and you are reading this, chances are you are a playoff team. No offense if your team is 1-7 and you just love fantasy football, but that is just the way #engagement generally works with fantasy football. Of course, 3-5 teams can still make the fantasy football playoffs at this point and even win league championships with some good old fashioned luck. The biggest key to use in trading and waiver pickups is: what do you need right now? If you’re 7-1, you probably don’t need to spend 20% of your FAAB on Chris Conley. If you are 3-5, you should go the extra dollar on that DST or kicker because you can’t afford to be forgoing points for what might happen in the future.
